Casting jigs over and over gets tiresome and I'm leaning more and more toward bobber and crawler for the river. I'll try hellgrammite and crayfish too. In the right place, you can let it drift into a hole that might have been tough to cast to.

If you can drive into your garage with the kayak still sitting on top, you can have a set of 4 ropes hanging from the rafters with "S" hooks to hang the kayak in the garage upside down and just lower it for the next trip. That's what I did years ago with a 12' boat.

I have a couple and they keep company with the other lures I seldom use although I should. I hear they work better with trebles attached though.😉

Fishing with jigs in the river almost always included hooking up with some rock bass. Then there was worm fishing for suckers on a sunny bank in the spring. Muskies were introduced and rock bass and suckers I rarely see anymore. Flathead catfish are making their way here in the river too, and the outcome may not be good.

They probably don't make them with an anti-reverse switch to save manufacturing costs and hope you won't notice until after you have lain your money down. I only use mine when I have played the fish up to where it's ready to be taken from the water. I fish with it off because sometimes a monster will grab the lure and run and the drag may not be right, so I'll be forced to back reel or have the line break.
