  1. I’m sure some peoples opinions will differ but I would definitely use the 12# for the spinning with a light leader. you could probably run straight braid 50# for what you said (frogs, t-rigs, other power fishing techniques). I would say 30# with a leader would be most versatile on the second baitcasting rod, but it depends on what cover you’re fishing around and such. good luck with everything! it looks like you have a good idea of what you’re doing.
  2. Hey guys, I recently purchased a 12ft tracker topper jon boat. specifically the 1236, the wide model I believe. I am looking to mount an electric trolling motor to the front. i’ve been looking at the minn kota edge debating on if it’s worth the foot pedal version or the hand control one. sometimes i’ve heard that the foot pedal can be a bit “much” for a 12ft jon boat since it does weight more. just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this. thanks!
  3. roboworm in the junebug color is my bread and butter for sure!
  4. I appreciate the info man! Just because of the versatility and warranty of the GLX I think that’s the direction i’ll head. Thanks to everyone who helped me out!
  5. saw a bass eat a bat out of mid air once! sounded like a gunshot
  6. Hey Nate! I will definitely make a post about it! I feel that I could add some good feedback of the positives and negatives of swimbait specific fishing for sure. Stay tuned haha...
  7. awesome! thanks for the feedback and advice. super helpful. I think I will end up purchasing the GLX!
  8. Hey guys, I am looking to get a versatile rod tailored towards smaller hard and soft baits. I would be looking for something that can throw jerkbaits, smaller worms, shaky heads, small lipless and topwaters, etc. kinda like a “jack of all trades” for smaller baits. I am trying to decide between a G Loomis GLX 842c MBR and a Shimano Expride 6’10” medium. I have heard a few things about the reel seat on the GLX being a problem, some people even saying it made them sell the rod. I have fairly large and long hands and will most likely pair the rod up with a 50-100 size reel. Wanted to see if anyone owned either of these rods and what baits they typically use on them. Thanks guys, looking forward to hearing from you!
  9. thanks guys!
  10. Hey guys, my name is Colin and I am from the northern half of Georgia. I have previously been a part of a forum called "Swimbait Underground" but I am transitioning back to conventional fishing. Hope to contribute well to this forum in the future!
