  1. Sorry for your loss. aAt 75 I have lost several of my best friends and fondly remember them all. Decided that no more dogs as I fear They will outlive me.
  2. 75 and use rollers after workouts 5 or 6 times per week. Seems to help loosen muscles.
  3. Best wishes, Loved baseball growing up,. played with a friend in high school who started for the 1969 mets in the world series. Good fielder , average hitter. He batted over 500 in high school and was 12-1 pitching. Amazing what a skill set it takes to play at that level.
  4. Showing my age. Jason Lucas on bass fishing
  5. 75 and don't let the small stuff bother me anymore
  6. My wife is amazing at working puzzles. She can sometimes work a Sunday New York puzzle in 30 minutes. Me . not so.
  7. Fish a lot of large ponds and often anchor by gently lowering the anchor. If the wind is correct, I will drift downwind anchor and then drift and anchor again usually following a weedline or drop off. I have spot lock , but prefer anchor when conditions are right. Not sure the bass even in large ponds (30 to 50 acres) don't know your on the water. Quiet is golden.
  8. Cataract surgery in both eyes. 20 20 vision for longer distance. Need cheaters for reading and tying knots at times
  9. Will turn 76 in May. Work out about 5 times per week since at least 2012. I believe it is a mindset for me to constantly challenge myself and not let age dictate what I can do. Started because I fish isolated places alone and knew I need to be able to care for myself. I s now a life style choice. AJay is amazing.
  10. I was just a kid and my Dad borrowed his father-in-law's rod and reel. Fishing with cut bait for stripers and the hands were slippery and there it went into the river. Also saw him drop a bowling ball and catch a trout with a fly rod on the backcast. Loved going out with him, but a angler he was not.
  11. Did see some jerk baits
  12. Great looking dog! Had a miniture dachshund and she was very sweet and smart. Afraid of nothing. Attacked possums and other critters. She worked with two of our cats and would drive wood rats out of there dens for the cats to catch. Still miss her
  13. Went to the Killeen texas store today. They had a number of H2 baits and others I have not seen before. The packaging is different. Crank baits, hard swim baits, and a number of others.
  14. Dad was in the Pacific aged 17. He was tough and determined.
  15. I fish for larger bass in small lakes that have lots of cover and large fish. I use heavier line to better insure landing . Don't like the idea of a lunker possibly swimming away with a lure in its mouth. Fish slow most of the time and might hook more fish with lighter line , but want to get them to the boat and release them
  16. When I was young caught many species of fish with these and super dupers.
  17. 75 and lots of good advise here
  18. have two of the ethos heavies and like them . Use mainly in heavy cover.
  19. yall convinced me. I will get the shots.
  20. My best friend and I are in our 70's and both Of us say "I love you" whenever we speak. I say it because its true and at our age and experiences may not have many future opportunities to do so. Value those super close friends.
  21. The foam rollers work great for me. I use before and after workouts at least 5 times a week.
  22. Need to pull out Jason Lucas book and read it again. Really liked his articles. Have had it for over 60 years and most is still pertinent.
  23. When I was young my dad had me mow the grass twice with only a reel mower. Once Facing the street, and then across parallel so the line wouldn't show the mowing lanes from the street. I was young and parlayed this into a decent business while in elementary school. Used the money to buy fishing and hunting equipment. I have never underestimated the value of a good work ethic.
  24. For me it was early 70's at Millwood Lake in Arkansas. I was inexperienced bass fishing with a cheap limber shakespere 5' 6'' rod and old ambassader 5000 reel. Tossed a black worm into a jungle of trees and thought I was snagged as the person on the trolling motor moved the boat. I could barely crank the reel. I finally realized fish on and said stop. About that time the bass head came to the surface and looked like the size of a plate. Surged straight down and was gone. Biggest bass I had ever seen at the time and have often wondered how large. Went and bought a stouter rod.
