  1. 77 going on 78. I fish mostly small lakes ponds thet are very deserted. I work out 4 t0 5 times per week to maintain strength and balance. I now fish from a 14 foot fiberglass boat where I can set or easily walk around inside the boat. My trailer is a tilt trailer with rollers instead of bunks. Also installed a electric winch with remote to launch and retrieve the boat. Can launch and retrieve with only trailer wheels on shore with 4wheel truck. Very few ramps where I fish. Also carry extra clothes, battery, first aid supplies and make sure loved ones know where I am.
  2. First bass boat was a skeeter hawk with stick steering and 50 hp envinrude. Rough water beat me up being up front. Was a tough boat
  3. sears 12 foot semi vee with 7.5 hp engine. Put a motorguide bow TM on it. Also a green box lowrance flasher. Fished for several years over north and east Texas. Lots of fish caught in that boat. Car topped .
  4. Thanks for the reminder. Will schedule
  5. Folgers black silk. dark roast and very tasty
  6. Good luck. Had both eyes done without issues. Also a cornea transplant where I had to lay on my back for five days during recovery. Thant was hard. and successful.
  7. empty coffee can with plastic lid. Can stay in boat and rinse out later. Always in the boat.
  8. Another vote for wee R
  9. 2nd trolling motor used as a rudder is the best solution. You can buy a bullnose rudder to clamp to the the rear motor which greatly improve steering . I always removed the rear motor when pulling tje trailer. Good little boats for pond fishing. You can even load the boat with the wheels on the edge of the water.
  10. Butt seat works great. You can buy one with a curve towards the rear that will help you have more leg room between the seat and the pedal. Fished out of one on ponds for many years
  11. Welcome and enjoy
  12. Started fishing in the Sierra Nevadas at about 10 yoa with my Dad. Later as a teenager we would study topo maps of high mountain lakes and backpack into them. Very remote and beautiful. Sometimes the trout fishing was great and others suffered ice fish kills due to being shallow. Some of my fondest memories. 77 now and I wonder if those same isolated spots are pristine because of population growth in CA. Love fishing remote creeks and rivers here in TX
  13. Happy Birthday, Keep up the inspiration
  14. Welcome. I live in Bell County close to the Fort. Think the high water will kill much of the hydrilla and it will take some time to grow back. The fishing at the lake is very different without it. Have seen the lake flood 2 or 3 times.
