  1. Possibly sunfish hitting you today. I still like downsizing sometimes though! Picked up some Z-man flashback minis today. They look awesome.
  2. Dropped the Herm rod off at the rod repair place today to get new Eva grips put on since those Winn grips are wore out. Funny story, we bought that rod for my son for Christmas 2020. The d**n cat chewed up the factory grips that were on It while It was hiding In the closet. I took the rod to the same repair guy and he recommended the Winn grips. Today when I brought It back to him for new grips, he tells me yeah, this is why I don’t recommend Winn grips. They wear out too fast. lol
  3. Champion got here The photos do not look good. Look fine on my phone ?‍♂️
  4. Thanks for the link. I had no idea they were “higher end”.
  5. Thank you. Those two Fuegos don’t look like mine.
  6. Thank you. I will check into that. I haven’t laid my hands on these yet. Hoping there are delivered today. Supposed to be really smooth as is according to the seller.
  7. I just bought two factory older Fuegos. I want to upgrade spool bearings, drag washers, and possibly change to a swept handle, which I think requires a new drag star. However, I have zero clue what parts I need, what’s compatible, if this is something I could do myself, etc. If anyone has a comprehensive list of exactly what I need (links would be mighty helpful) that would be great. Thanks! Here’s the model I got:
  8. DAIWA SOLD BPS Pro Qualifier 2 PQC10HA 6.8 gear ratio, 2 years old. Again, fine mechanically. My son used this reel for everything. $40 Will ship for $6 Just upgraded reels, only reason for selling.
  9. Never bought in to that either. If It was a real problem, no one would buy them and companies would reengineer.
  10. I would use 10lb braid to 10lb fluoro on the ML and use 1/0 roboworm rebarb hook, 3/16 to 1/4 weight. On the M I would use 20lb braid to 15lb fluoro leader, 3/0 rebarb hook, 3/8 weight. Little bigger bait on this one. Like 7” roboworm.
  11. The Arid-x are really great for the $50 or whatever they were. Well worth It. They have really good power which I needed for getting fish away from the docks. I have yet to really fish the Tac 40. It feels nice though. I don’t fish spinning setups too often which is why I don’t have higher end for them. Had a berkley cherrywood before the tac 40 lol but It broke. Once I get all my casting needs met I’ll probably get a Whipsnake or 702 and a Vanford. Dobyns called me today and getting my replacement DX746 shipped. I’ll post up when it’s here.
  12. But if there was, It would be more desirable.
  13. Also have 3 spinning setups but nothing pic worthy imo. Skipping flukes/heavy drop shot/shakey: Penn Battle II, Daiwa Arid-X 6’6” medium spinning, 20lb power pro braid to 15lb invisx fc leader Wacky rig/Ned: Daiwa laguna, daiwa arid-x 6’6” medium spinning, 10lb power pro braid to 8lb fc Drop Shot: lews speed spool, h2o express tac40 ML 7’, 10lb power pro braid to 10lb seaguar fc leader
  14. I want to play. Not as high end as most though. Lews Hyper mag will go on Dobyns champ extreme 746 when It gets here. The OG Daiwas are going to replace a couple current reels, but I haven’t decided which ones yet. Probably the BPS Pro Qualifier and the Tatula that’s on the square bill rod. 15. St Croix Mojo MHMF “spinnerbait” model. Straight braid. Love It.
  16. Picked up two OG JDM Daiwa Fuegos today from another forum. Can’t wait to get them in!
  17. These are my spinning setups. They may or may not work for you. Skipping flukes/heavy drop shot/shakey: Penn Battle II, Daiwa Arid-X 6’6” medium spinning, 20lb power pro braid to 15lb invisx fc leader Wacky rig/Ned: Daiwa laguna, daiwa arid-x 6’6” medium spinning, 10lb power pro braid to 8lb fc Drop Shot: lews speed spool, h2o express tac40 ML 7’, 10lb power pro braid to 10lb seaguar fc leader In the future I will get a Dobyns 702 and a Vanford.
  18. I would try the smallest translucent fluke I could cast. Weightless.
  19. I’m of the belief that if you find the fish, It doesn’t make much difference what you throw to a reasonable degree.
  20. I’m a gear junkie so I love the rod, reel, line section.
  21. So not a first gen?
  22. Ok I see. I’ve never removed a spool from any reel I’ve owned so probably no problems there. I asked the guy this morning how long he’s had the reel. He replied: ”Probably a year give or take. I really can’t remember. I go through so much stuff. I only used it twice I think. It’ll sling a 3/8 oz Carolina rig. I just sold a bunch of rods and don’t have the rod I had it on anymore” Then I asked if he bought It new because I learned It was an older generation. He replied: ”I picked it up from one of my buddies who never used it” So we will see.
