  1. I was at the tackle store the other day looking at a Poison Adrena and It had a made in China sticker on It. Really confused me for the price and It being Shimano. Are they all this way? Not bashing. Also noticed a USA Zillion there that was made in Thailand. But my JDM Zillion was made in Japan. ?‍♂️
  2. Seems like a well thought out, practical law. Like most in California. ?
  3. Sorry R
  4. Perfect condition 5.6:1 gear ratio $75 shipped
  5. Might also need meditation. Or a Xanax
  6. Circling back to this because I went out the other day and threw just a tad bigger swimbait than I’m used to (but want to start throwing) and my 150p struggled. Had It on 20 on the brakes and still backlashed if I tried to get some distance on my cast. I’m now moving that reel to my deep crank rod and going to get a 300.
  7. Sounds like you need big game.
  8. Wonder what he was doing differently than millions of other strike king users? That’s a lot of straightened hooks in one night.
  9. Why?
  10. Easy. Daiwa - get my rods and reels Zoom Strike King Could catch fish the rest of my life with only those three companies.
  11. I think it’s interesting that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people go to Walmart, buy a cheap lure and go catch fish just fine, never even thinking about changing hooks or even knowing It’s a thing. For YEARS. People don’t know what they don’t know and there’s no problem until they make It a problem in their own mind. Forums/YouTube, etc. are good and bad in this sense. It definitely makes you think you have to have the best of the best just to go catch a bass. Hunting forums are the same. I grew up killing loads of deer with Simmons scopes. Never even knew that was a cheap brand. I joined my first hunting forum in 2006 and back then you apparently couldn’t kill a deer unless you had a Leupold. These days only a $800-$3000 SFP, target turret model will do. Go on any forum and say you have a $150 budget for a scope, someone will say that’s trash, save your money for a $400 scope. Say you have a $75 budget for a rod, someone will say save your money for a $150 rod. Ask if a cotton Cordell will work, someone will say change the hooks. just funny. Also funny how crappie fisherman use little gold Aberdeen eagle claws and catch double digit bass without straightening the hook. My daughter caught a 5lb bass this way. -Thoughts by Chris
  12. ? agree it’s unfortunate to have to throw back a fish that will possibly die due to length requirements.
  13. I’ve had my bass boat two years and fished probably 20 tournaments and numerous fun days. I’ve gut hooked 1 bass in that time and that was only because I stopped paying attention to my wacky rig to watch my son reel one in. That fish got eaten and I lost zero sleep over It. I’m just not seeing this as as big of a problem as this thread makes It seem.
  14. I’ve never changed a hook in my life. I say no way a 12 yo needs to.
  15. No fish tonight unfortunately but It sure was nice out after dark. I was trying new technique (big swim bait around docks).
  16. I don’t know specifically what that little jig is but great job. Looks fun!
  17. Good deal. I’m glad you got that figured out. Btw, you still don’t want your knot hitting the guides as I’ve seen It weaken and break the knot over time.
  18. I also like this place because of the different points of view. It’s cool to see how differently those from the north fish compared to us here in the south. Also this forum is heavily traveled by pond and bank fisherman It seems, and they have a different viewpoint than bass boat guys on large lakes.
  19. Try some 15lb big game mono.
  20. I would look at how much they are new and beat that price by about a dollar each.
  21. Please show me where I said you shouldn’t have asked questions. I’ll wait. Why won’t you answer my question? Do you disagree with the suggestions given to fix the problem presented in the first post? Would knowing every detail about the setup change the solution given to that problem? If the problem is X why do you need to know about Y? Fix X, then if you’re just bored, which It seems like you are, dive in deeper. The point is, those extra details are not needed to solve the original problem presented - line to line knot hitting guides. How do you disagree with this? Lol Example: Setup 1: Ugly Stik Tiger Boat rod XH, Daiwa 6000 spinning rod, 100lb braid to 150lb mono with double uni knot. Problem: Line to line knot hits guides. Setup 2: Megabass Destroyer Dark Sleeper, Daiwa Coastal SV, 20lb braid to 15lb fc with double uni knot. Problem: line to line knot hits guides. Are the solutions different for either of these setups? No
  22. I would create another account at this point. Or check out as a guest if that’s an option (may not be).
  23. I’ve never added anyone to an ignore list on any forum and I don’t plan to today. I didn’t scold anyone until the new guy comment you made came in to play. I quoted someone, said this is the answer and we don’t need more info to come to that answer, and you got butt hurt about It. I was never even talking to you in this thread. Do you disagree with the suggestions to fix a line to line knot hanging up in a guide? Seriously. Do you disagree with any of those solutions? If not, then wth is your problem? If the line to line knot catching in a guide is causing backlashes, and we have no reason to believe it’s not because the OP says It is, and if the OP has the mental capacity to figure out how to sign up on a forum, post a question, etc I believe he probably has the mental capacity to tell that a knot is slamming a guide, then the solutions suggested are the answer. Correct? Now this thread has this guy loosening his spool tension. Id love to see the backlash that occurs with looser tension, same brakes, and the knot still catching a guide. Lol Btw, a lot of posts on a forum doesn’t make you cool or some kind of celebrity. Just like someone with less posts doesn’t make them some kind of outcast like they don’t belong in the cool guy club yet. That doesn’t encourage participation.
  24. Well I need some 8 or 10 for a spinning rig I just bought and looking to buy a Daiwa Coastal soon for inshore (still deciding on straight fc or braid on that one). Will definitely consider the YGK.
