  1. Son and I fished a tournament today. Put 9 in the boat, zero keepers ?
  2. My buddy texted asking if I wanted this. He knows I’ve been looking. Uhhh yes please!
  3. Took 5 replies for someone to actually answer the question. Why is It so difficult? He didn’t ask people around the country to recommend a color for his waters. He said if YOU could only pick one, which would It be. Lol. I love forums. btw, green pumpkin.
  4. Btw, I’m $240 in and still need a spool and spool bearings. Definitely not economical if anyone was thinking about doing the same thing.
  5. I ordered this https://gomexus.com/products/carbon-baitcasting-reel-handle-carbon-knob-lc75-fa38?_pos=18&_sid=0940d68e0&_ss=r Then I thought I’d take the reel apart and see how It looks. Never taken one apart lol. May never get It back together lol. Here’s some pictures. Let me know what I’m looking at please. Where are the brakes and where would spool bearings go? pic 1, what’s the silver thing with springs? That idler gear is one of the parts I’m going to replace but I couldn’t figure out how to remove It for now. pic 2, I don’t know what any of this is but doesn’t look like anything I need to upgrade?? pic 3, these came out when I took the star drag off. Do they go a certain way when I put them back in? They have a slight curve to them. pic 3, gears? They well stay as is. I like 6.3:1. I was going to ask where the drag washers are but bulldog sent me a photo and I figured that out. I will be upgrading those. pic 4, spool, worm gear, and pawl will be upgraded. Also the spur gear, although I couldn’t figure out how to remove anything off the spool for now. pic 5, other side of the spool. Is that the brakes? Where would spool bearings go in all this?
  6. He’s been messaging me some directly lol
  7. Zpi star drag added to my zillion.
  8. I want to try my hand at customizing a reel for the first time. Bought a 5600c4 today for $50 and thinking if could be a cool swimbait reel. I’m thinking new spool, handle/knobs, drag, etc. but I literally have no idea where to start. Any suggestions would be great.
  9. Bad picture but just picked this up for $50. Going to try my hand at customizing It for a swimbait reel. Going to make a thread about It because I don’t know where to start.
  10. I like a 2/0-4/0 roboworm rebarb hook. Texas rigged, weightless
  11. you do a lot of frog and treble hook t-rigs? to the op, 5 seconds is way too long. If I feel the fish or see my line swimming off, I set.
  12. ? I haven’t encountered that on the big reservoirs I fish down south. Typically in muddy water this time of year, if you want to fish shallow, you’re looking at pitching a creature around. In my experience, the fish seem to get lazy up shallow and you have to put It right in their face. So moving baits like spinnerbaits and such don’t work as well for me right now.
  13. Let us know how It does OP. They look great but the reviews on TW aren’t the best so I’ve held off for now.
  14. For me, a green pumpkin creature bait such as a rage bug, half oz weight, pitching around lay downs.
  15. I have 21. I like technique specific though. And I like to collect things.
  16. I didn’t look at what he had, just read that he won’t be pitching.
  17. I have one on my c-rig rod. You should love It.
  18. I see lots of holes lol. Number 1 being pitching, which does not require grass, weeds, or Lilly pads. But I have 21 combos in the boat so I go way overboard.
  19. This is pretty much gospel for ANY soft plastic technique.
  20. Love the livewell handle! Yep, you’ll find me in my boat often reorganizing tackle, changing lines, deciding I need to swap reels, pitching baits in my yard, just staring at my sweet zillion. If I can’t be on the water, I want to be messing with my gear.
  21. Some time ago I literally poured all of my creature baits into a gallon zip lock. I have SK rage bug and craw, Speed craws, brush hogs, some weird googan thing, something from net bait. All in either watermelon, watermelon red, green pumpkin, junebug, or some very close combination of those. When I’m pitching a t-rig, 99% of the time I reach in and just grab something. I really don’t think It matters. They bite them all. Except sweet beavers. I tried those and they were too thick for me. Couldn’t get a good hook set.
  22. Next question. Line? 20lb Sunline armilo? 20lb CXX? Izorline XXX? 25lb?
