  1. The only pain I get from bass fishing (besides the occasional broken heart when your line breaks or you pull up a big drum that you thought was about to be a lake record bass) is bruising on the chest from setting the hook hard and the rod handle digging in lol. I’m the same way. No time for seats lol! I forget though when I sometimes take my older friend. He’s not very happy with me after a tourney day.
  2. I have used two knots for 20 years. Doesn’t matter if I’m fishing for 50lb blue cat, bass, or sharks. Type and strength of line doesn’t matter. Improved clinch and Alberto. well I guess I lied. If I’m fishing with circle hooks I pre make leaders using a snell knot. But main line to leader swivel is always improved clinch.
  3. I ordered some 7” senkos in baby bass. When I got them I was surprised how fat they are. Much bigger than I expected. So I haven’t used them like I originally planned. So I will try this.
  4. What in the did you just say?
  5. True. Different strokes. I won’t bank fish.
  6. Getting ready for tournament tomorrow.
  7. Thanks all. Gives me something to look at. little more info: My current setup for pitching creatures and casting big 10”+ worms is Dobyns DX746 and a Team Lews Hypermag. My backup pitching rod is a Dobyns SA766 with a Tatula Elite P/F. I like the first rod better and the second reel better. But I don’t want to just swap them due to line capacity on the P/F. I might swap them and put a long cast spool on the elite.
  8. Nice morning with the sleeper gill and pitching creatures. River fish.
  9. Pitching creatures and casting big Texas rig worms (1/2oz weight +)? I don’t really like my current reel I use and want to see what else is out there. I really like my tat elite p/f but want more line capacity for casting. I like the bigger handle on the p/f. FYI my tat elite is on a different rod than the one I’m replacing the reel on.
  10. Haha that’s ok. That’s everything you really need. And Organized!
  11. I’ve done It. Worked great. Used a mr clean magic eraser to first clean It all up.
  12. My OG Fuegos are about 6lbs max, most of my tats are about 11 max. My Lews hyper mag and Abu Revo are 20.
  13. Man I really don’t know what I’m doing. I pushed the new idler gear on, It clicked but now has up and down movement on the stud. When I popped It back off, It left the bearing on the stud! The new spool bearings came open but came with little orange rubber pieces. I’m assuming these go on either side of the bearing? The new spool gear does not push into the spool like It does on the old spool. Is this ok? see pics
  14. Any help on exactly where to oil and where to grease an Abu round reel?
  15. That legit may be me. I’ll be YouTubing reel repair for sure. Never done anything like this.
  16. I saw a guy whisper to a fish, “thanks good buddy for the fight”, while he was standing knee deep in the water caressing this thing as he let It go. It was weird af. This sounds like the op.
  17. Got some goodies in the mail yesterday. Waiting on two more packages.
  18. well I have a pack of 7” baby bass senkos and a pack of zman finesse frogs I’ll trade.
  19. I tried offering up a swap. No one wanted to.
  20. I have a Maverick 734c and it’s a great rod. I use It for spooks.
  21. I don’t get them but I do exactly what bulldog said. My kids get them cuz they’re always reeling up loose line.
  22. That’s exactly what I was going to say. First time I went to a local lake here with my boat I wore them out in a certain cove. Literally every time I go to the lake now I start there and never catch anything. Waste an hour or more every time. I don’t know why I do that. Second would be just sticking to a presentation for too long that’s clearly not working.
  23. I need to start repurposing senkos for Ned and trailer duty like that.
  24. Was going to buy the yums after seeing your post but I don’t like black/blue flake.
