  1. Here’s my back up pitching setup. Did have a Tat Elite P/F on It but I use my Carolina rig rod way more and decided to take the elite, change spool and bearings and put on that rod. So I had to put something on this one. So I got a Tat 150 and put some power knobs on It from a Zillion HD courtesy of jrob here on the forum. Really digging It. Rod is a Dobyns Sierra 766Flip. Currently trying to sell It and going to get a Dobyns Champion XP 735c. My primary pitching rod is a Champ Extreme 746c so want to get something to pitch a little lighter stuff. Today on my 746 I had a 1/2oz weight and rage bug. I put a 1/4oz with a baby brush hog on the 766 and It was just too light for It.
  2. The rod I'm trying to replace is a Falcon Lowrider All Around Fast. I use It for weightless t-rig senko, light t-rig, someone’s paddletails and swim jigs. I like the falcon. Just want something nicer. What do you think?
  3. Tat 150 or 200 for $138. Buy with confidence. I’ve purchased 5 reels from him. https://discountfishingdeals.com/shop/ols/categories/daiwa
  4. Don’t know if I’ve shown this one off or not but either way, here’s my primary Chatterbait setup. crazy story, I was fishing CB yesterday and bombed a cast at the exact time a blue heron was flying across the cove. My CB didn’t hit him but flew across the line and caught It. I didn’t engage the spool because I didn’t want to hurt him (or my reel) so I was thumbing the spool trying to get the line off him. In about 3 seconds he completely spooled me. All my Braid and a $15 jack hammer. Gone. Lol He was fine btw. Once my line came off the reel, I watched It fall off him and sink to the bottom. He landed nearby and went about his day, catching fish. So I respooled.
  5. Thanks tx! You fish any clubs?
  6. Nothing fancy. Made a post about a Chatterbait reel last week. Settled on the Tat 150. My primary Chatterbait setup is a Mojo Bass MH Mod Fast with 50lb braid. That’s what I made the post for. But I decided to keep the Tat SV on that one. Ended up putting the 150 on my backup Chatterbait rod, which happens to be my primary spinnerbait/swim jig setup. I will also pitch 3/8 finesse jigs with this setup. Falcon Head Turner, Tat 150, 16lb Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai.
  7. You guys are good. Post a picture on a National forum and find people who know the creek I'm in lol!
  8. I guess the bass I catch are weenies. They rarely pull drag. It’s pretty common here to use 20lb line or 65lb Braid, tighten the drag, and wrench them in. When they are close, if they surge, I’ll use the clutch and my thumb.
  9. Great stuff. Water temp was 83 degrees and striper were chasing tiny threadfin Shad (and a few huge gizzards) all over the lake. I did not check for thermocline. Funny, this is lake Whitney!
  10. I would go L - 8lb big game OR 10lb braid to 8lb fc leader M - 10lb braid to 10lb fc leader MHF - 15 fc for my fishing, that’s what I would do.
  11. Falcon Amistad. Not super sensitive but it’s all i need and the braid helps.
  12. Paddle tail like a 5” largo Shad and keitech on underspins I have a Megabass Destroyer p5 dark sleeper that works great. Will also throw the paddletail on a Falcon 7’ MHF (all around F). This is soon to be replaced with a Daiwa Elite 7’3” MHF multi purpose rod. Should be fine for the same.
  13. Any siebert outdoors discount codes floating around? Military/first responder/labor day, etc.? Need some tungsten and thought I’d try a few fogys also.
  14. The wife and I tried a new lake today. The black bass fishing wasn’t great but we did catch some stripers.
  15. Not a US Rod but I’m leaning heavily to replacing It with a Tatula Elite Brent Ehrler 7’3” multi purpose rod.
  16. Large man made reservoir that is predominantly limestone bluff walls. Clear water, 5-8 visibility. The water is deep, 20-80 feet just right outside the walls. The other side of the lake is just shallow sand/mud flats about 2’ deep for a couple hundred yards up to shore. The lake is low so the water is below any vegetation line on that side. These types of lakes get me every time. These pics aren’t a great representation but gives you an idea. First pic I was sitting in 30’, second 20’, third 80’. No grass in this lake.
  17. Would the 7’3” Ehrler multi purpose rod be good for weightless senko?
  18. lol how heavy are the caffeine Shads?
  19. Man I can launch my zillion tw sv with 3/32 twist locks and caffeine Shad longer than I want to set the hook on. Maybe shimanos will beat It, no experience there. But if so, that’s a long long way.
  20. Didn’t even check the weather but ran in to this on the way to the lake: Sp we fished in the rain for a few hours this evening. I boated 7. Nothing big. Rain slowed enough to get a picture of this one.
  21. Correct because they are still a Ranger. Champion is gone. Hence why they are called Charger.
  22. Do they say Legend on the side? So technically, I’m correct.
  23. 5.5 or 6.3 with 22lb sunline defier armilo. Tranx would work but you were asking about Zillions so thought you’d want a daiwa. I like daiwa better.
  24. It’s insane how accurate their casting is. I feel like I’m pretty good, but daaang. Especially skipping frogs way in the backs of flooded brush.
