My grandpa used to fry soft shell turtle with the catfish when he caught them on his trot lines. As far as I remember there were no complaints on taste. I wouldn’t even know how to clean one.

I just went against all things right in the world and ordered a Shimano Stradic from digitaka to go with a Daiwa Tatula Elite spinning rod. ??‍♂️ Also ordered Sunline Siglon braid, Sunline BMS fc, and Sunline Sniper fc.

In the Situation you described, no you did nothing wrong.

This is true. To clarify, this is what I had in my mind when I posted. I wasn’t thinking an entire tackle bag or nice rod and reel combo.
