  1. Super hog cut just above the small arms is a good jig trailer.
  2. Yeah I don’t see any productive looking flats. I wouldn’t fish any of those spots based off what I see here. These are better flats imo. Near sharp drop offs into deep water.
  3. You can if you want to. I sleep at the lake all the time.
  4. You got lake Lewisville to the west, lake lavon to the east, and Ray Hubbard to the southeast. They will all have some sort of bank fishing.
  5. One of the best.
  6. I’m the same with my jackhammers. I like to drive the hookset in. I like this choice. I’ll probably use my current Amistad XH for magdrafts (Falcon says it’s a good swimbait rod on their site), get the 734c for chatters and whatever the I want to use with It, and then get something else just for the heck of It. Maybe a So Cal or Amistad. @casts_by_fly any experience with the so cal? I love my 610-4cb! Perfect 110 and LC 1.5 rod. Rk crawler 50 too. It’s one of my most specialized rods so I don’t use It that much but it’s my favorite for these techniques. This rod replaced a tatula elite jerkbait rod that was like a noodle. Hated that thing. I did try a 2.5 crank on It and It was a little heavy. I now use my Expert All Around for 2.5s, jabberjaws, etc.
  7. You don’t know the difference? One looks all around you hence 360 degrees. One looks forward hence forward facing. What’s up with people on this forum being this way lately? Did you or did you not know what he meant? I don’t think that you can get a 7” livescope compatible screen. 9” garmin is what I would go with on a kayak with lvs 34. That’s all I’d need on a kayak. My other graphs on the bass boat are relegated to mapping duties basically now. But on a kayak that’s not as important since you are running far. You can use your phone with navionics app.
  8. @PBBrandon Definitely a consideration. I love Dobyns. I currently have Dobyns Kaden 610-4CB, Dobyns Maverick 734c, Dobyns Champion XP 684c, Dobyns Champion DX746, and Dobyns Champion 804c c-rig special. Champ 734 is supposed to be one of their most popular I think. I need to get one.
  9. I’ve never even owned a DC reel and won’t but ok.
  10. And I’m sure you were quick to deride him about It.
  11. Ok so he accidentally put reel. But he wrote casting rod in two other places and it’s obvious he’s asking about rods. Geez
  12. I don’t think It matters at all.
  13. Agree on matching rod and reel brands.
  14. I may be wrong but I think it’s the exact reel just without the t-wing. Very nice reel.
  15. That maroon Lews reel feels pretty nice.
  16. For me a cranking reel needs to be a 5-6 gear and a topwater reel needs to be 8 gear. But if you’re doing It all with one I’d get a 7.1 and to match that rod I’d get the Lews KVD reel. The maroon one.
  17. My deductive reasoning says I don’t think so. Especially since he said he’s thinking about a MH to H in a st Croix mojo. Or Dobyns, phenix, etc. And the title says Rod. This kind of gave It away too. !
  18. Would be hard for us to know how it’ll go in your river. Try It and see. Not much to learning to walk the dog.
  19. scratching head Get the expert amistad and be happy.
  20. You think my Amistad XH is too fast for the treble hook 6” magdraft?
