You probably know this but in Texas there’s only one natural lake (Caddo). Everything is is manmade, mostly flooded valleys, etc that used to be woods.
I like a weightless Texas rigged senko pitched right into them.
I bought this for my son’s first bc years ago. Thing was terrible. Took It back and got a Lew’s classic combo from Walmart that is still going strong (although now it’s been moved to channel cat duty). I say learn them on a real bc, not this thing.
I see an advantage. I use 20lb line on my pitching setups and have the drag locked down pretty good. Close quarters, Hard hook set, get in boat. If needed, engage thumb bar.
Seems this reel is marketed for heavy Braid line and frogging/topwater. 65lb Braid, hard hook set, drag out of the muck, get in boat.
Oh I see. In my mind I was thinking a paper receipt that you could just do the entire shirt order in a family members name with. An online order with your name and address on the proof of purchase Probably wouldn’t work.
I bet there’s a club in your area you could join. Probably won’t be Jon boat specific but I bet you could use that to your advantage and get into some places the big boats can’t.
I love senko fishing and tried the yum dingers and KVD Ochos and they just don’t catch them the same for me as the GY. So I have a ton of confidence in the senko.
Therefore, even though I haven’t thrown the tanuki yet, I have a lot of confidence in them already.
Just my thought. I could get out there and they stink lol.
This. My 20’ Vexus gets blown around pretty good but no wind has ever kept me off the water where I would have went if I had a glass boat. If that makes sense. Ultrex helps a lot.
It would be nice to have glass and be able to get off the tm more but I’m used to It now.
Also premium tin boats (Vexus, ranger, xpress) have lower sides which help alot.
Everything you said is literally the exact opposite for me and why I own a boat and sold the kayaks. When I start missing my kayaks I remember the pia It was hauling them around, launching, not being able to fish where I really want, etc.
Literally nothing in life except food, water, and shelter is a need then. I disagree though. I definitely need a boat. Because I NEED my life to be fulfilled.
I have some big regular bellows gills but they stink so bad I haven’t used them lol
Also I couldn’t help It. Just placed an order for a couple p-line spools, hayabusa pitching hooks, Owner twistlock flipping hooks, owner rig-n-worm hooks, and a culling tag holder to mount in my livewell.
