  1. I have a small club tournament (~25 anglers) at grapevine on 9/30. Never even been on the lake.
  2. Agree with most. Weakest part of your whole setup is the hook or knot. Dowel Rod or stick and pull. It won’t just break in a random spot if the line is healthy and you won’t leave a bunch of line out on the break.
  3. I’m fishing a two day tournament on a local, huge, deep, clear water reservoir this week (Texas Police Games). Just wanted to share my lineup because I’m bored and can’t wait. Let me know what you think. I try to have most stuff covered but in reality won’t have time to fish It all probably. 9.5hrs tomorrow, 6.5hrs Thursday. We’ve been finding fish in 5-20’ of water. Mostly 15-20’. Lately we’ve seen them blowing up on huge gizzard Shad. The threadfin Shad spawn is well over with but they are going after gizzards hard right now. Amistad XH w/ mono for Chad Shad. I have extra reel ready to go for big 1.5oz jig if needed. Perfect pitch with line thru swimbait (BB kicker into homemade line thru) I will fish these around deep docks in the shade as It gets hotter. Expert All Around with jabberjaw Kaden with LC 1.5 Squarebill Not sure I’ll use these but squarebills are kind of a go to this time of year for me if I happen to be up shallow. Maverick with vixen ready to go just in case I see them blowing up on gizzards on top. Rebellion w/ Weightless t-rig senko 684c weighted t-rig senko Always have senkos ready. DX746 with 1/2oz Texas rig 7” mag fluke- deep gizzard Shad mimic Poison with 1/2oz shakey with big straight tail worm 804c 3/4oz c-rig - anything from senko, lizard, brush hog, to 15” c mac worm. Fished deep Bayou for 10.5” power worm fished deep.
  4. Excellent bladed jig rod also.
  5. How is It impossible to reel faster? How were people catching fish when a 5 gear was considered fast?
  6. Jabberjaws were on clearance on TW. Got some of them and some Lucky Craft LC Silent 1.5s. The colors on them all are amazing.
  7. No it’s super light.
  8. Clip ons are ok. Those big suckers that fit completely over your regular glasses, meh, not for me.
  9. Wearing over the glasses sunglasses if you’re under 70 should be a crime.
  10. With other discounts I have I could get that for $469. Than the rebate. hmmm interesting. Do i need one?
  11. It’s a heavy. It’s not “heavier “.
  12. I have the orochi spec R, a Rebellion 7’3” MH, and a bunch of falcons. I’d get a Falcon expert head Turner hands down.
  13. Picking up a falcon expert amistad XH tomorrow. It’ll do for that if needed I think. This will be my big jig rod with 20lb Sniper, Punching rod with 65lb braid, and Chad Shad rod with 20-25lb mono.
  14. Have a 2 day tournament Wednesday and Thursday this week. I’ll have a 10 or 10.5” power worm or zoom ol monster, 15” netbait c-Mac, and 9.5” 6th sense shakey Worm on. For big worms that is. Lol
  15. I also use heavier weight. 1/2 oz almost exclusively. I want It down on bottom fast and want to feel It. I fish them 15’ plus and drag on bottom.
  16. Dang It I just ordered a bunch on clearance from TW.
  17. You’ve never had an Alberto knot fail either if it’s breaking in front of the knot.
  18. Oh bass don’t care. Definitely a collector thing. But they do catch fish!
  19. I don’t believe for a second the Alberto knot is your problem. I’ve caught 20lb jack crevalles on 20lb Braid to 10lb fc with Alberto. I’ve caught reds, Bonita, grouper, mangrove snapper. Used It for 15 years. That knot is solid.
  20. @Captain Phil you still have those jackhammers you’d sell?
  21. Why do people want a Ferrari when they could have a corvette, Camaro, or 1991 Camry? People like to collect nice things.
  22. That’s true. Anything will catch them at any time really. I just have a routine for myself that for me keeps me in a little bigger than average fish. I’m also thinking from a Tournament perspective 100% of the time. With that said, I’m headed to caddo right now and I plan to throw frogs for fun. And I would never throw frogs in a tournament. Lol if I fished nights I might use that black spinnerbait.
  23. Presence of grass wouldn’t change anything for me. Blade baits just aren’t a summer bait for me.
  24. I use black nickel blades on GP colored bait in 50 degree pre-spawn waters. Move to silver and gold blades during spawn and shad spawn. By this time I’m no longer throwing spinnerbait or Chatterbait at all and just fishing deep crank or squarebill for moving baits which is actually rare for me. Almost exclusively fishing plastics deep by now.
