  1. Hmm, so many. Where to start? After I retired I picked fishing up again. Due to my old work hours I had no time to even think fishing so I gave all my gear away. Starting anew I bought a couple spincasting combos (Zebco) and some lures. Tied on a Meps spinner (1/4 oz) and immediately caught a catfish from the pond here. As I’m trying to remove the treble hook, he starts croaking for lack of a better word and I impaled my right hand in the palm when he jerked. I was so concentrated on him croaking I forgot what my hands were doing. Real n00b move on my part.
  2. Same issue. Sycamore50 not working now. ☹️
  3. Thanks! We learned a while back to ‘keep peter in the pocket’ until house trained. Keeps the accidents to a minimum.
  4. We had a Ford Aerostar years ago. Minivan, yes but built on a truck frame. Loved that sucker. Except when it came tuneup time. You had to be a contortionist to get to the back plugs, wires and distributor.
  5. The older bass usually surface and yell at me to stop ripping their dentures out. ? Seriously though, I like chatter baits and learned to retrieve them just slow enough that they begin to vibrate and then duplicate that with other lures. Paying for new bass dentures can get expensive. ?
  6. We adopted him this past weekend and so far he’s doing well with the other dog. He’s a 2 year old rescue, a mix of dachshund and terrier and loves to play. We recently lost a rescue that the other dog and my wife were very attached to so I’m hoping Oliver will help with the healing. He’s already working his way into my wife’s heart. And yes he’s wearing a diaper until we’re sure he’s properly house trained.
  7. 2016 Nissan Frontier crew cab w/ 4.0 V6. Rods go in the passenger seat and tackle in the bed under the tonneau cover along with my fishing cart. If I take the ‘toon I deflate one log and it goes in the bed at an angle after rolling back the tonneau.
  8. After going from working on machines for a living to dealing with people in sales I found that a machine takes grease a lot better than people to quiet down. I also learned that I don’t ‘people’ well. ?
  9. My wife was a 4th grade teacher for well over 20 years before she retired. I called her students the ‘Walking Biohazards’ because she always brought home their germs and gave them to me. ?
  10. That is one bad ass combo sir!
  11. Ouch? Here’s hoping the recovery goes smoothly for you.
  12. It was a haptic alarm. Felt it more than heard it. ?
  13. While I much prefer braid over flouro on all my rigs, I’m experimenting with 10# flouro (Seaguar InvizX) on one of my spinning rigs. While before I would cast and the braid would fly off the rod, the flouro seems to do the same but as the lure hits the water it tends to want to coil up. I don’t like that and have to give it the stink-eye when retrieving to make sure there’s no wind knots or snags. Never had to do that with braid. As far as noise goes I think it may depend on brand and what test it is. Just my 2 cents.
  14. Nephews! Pffft! He was milking it for all he could. ? On a warmer note, since the storm last night the pond is back up to full pool again and the fish were enjoying themselves with the new forage that got washed in. Managed to catch 2 before my ‘honey-do’ alarm went off and had to stop. First one was caught on a red craw crank bait and the second one liked the white/green chatter bait. Pond was very muddy so I figure the lures must have bonked them on the kisser to get noticed. ?
  15. Friend up north sent me this pic of him and my nephew out fishing in their canoe. Said it was a ‘might bit cool’ that day. ?
  16. Right next to the fish tank. For testing purposes, of course. ? ?
  17. Macs are crazy expensive but worth it in the long run. I used to be a Linux guy. Wouldn’t have anything else. Slowly went to the dark side and went all in on Apple. Worked out well in my last career in web hosting when I worked from home.
  18. We got that camper a few weeks ago that’s supposed to be our present to each other. It’s pretty cool and has been a learning experience. ?
  19. Nice work there! I caught myself settling the hook with you! ?
  20. Welcome to the forums Jimmy! Beware the Bait Monkey! He is real!
  21. Good idea! Should have thought of that but seriously lacking in the caffeine department at the moment. ?
  22. I keep getting redirects on both those urls to spam/phishing sites with a crap ton of popups.
  23. That’s a purty lure ya got there! I’d mount that sucker over the fireplace if I had one. ?
  24. Wife put out her ‘nutcrackers’ this afternoon so I put one in ‘the position’ and took a picture of it. She didn’t find it funny but I thought it was hilarious. ? ?
  25. Welcome to the forums!
