  1. Decided to go out to the pond today around noon and try out the new 3.5” Rattlin Rapala in Shad I recently got. Rattlin Rapala The day couldn’t have been better with bluebird skies, a nice breeze with some gusts occasionally and temps in the mid-70s. 3rd cast by the pier and caught this 4 pound pig with an attitude. ? This pond continues to surprise me with some large, quality fish. Even spotted some Carp up around the shallows that I never knew were there.
  2. Awesome trip and catches! Here’s to many more in your future, sir!
  3. I’ve got one made for round baits and it works fine with the ochos as well. Got it on Amazon. Reaction Tackle Wacky Worm Tool Wacky O-Rings Wacky Rigging Plastic Senko Style Worms
  4. Thanks for all the replies! Never gave much thought to pouring my own but now I’m curious. ?
  5. After a day of fishing what do you do with your used plastic baits? Put them back in their respective bags, leave ‘em rigged up and put them in a tackle box/tray or toss ‘em? Just curious really as I tend to put mine in the top tray of my tackle box to dry before putting them back in their respective trays. If they’re not too buggered up I’ll reuse them.
  6. Daiwa AIRD-X Braiding-X 6'6" M Spinning Rod paired with a Pflueger Trion 30 spinning reel. Retrieves like butter and casts a good distance. Love this combo for worms, creatures, ned/wacky/neko type stuff. I’ve got 10# braid on it now and is my go-to on most days.
  7. It was like they switched on for a few hours and sent the baby out as a scout. Ha! It’s died off now so I’m going to try again later this afternoon. Hands are feeling better today so I took full advantage. ?
  8. Caught a lil o baby bass this morning followed up by a 4+ pounder just now. Lipless One Knocker crank in shimmering red. ? Back at it to see if I can get papa (bass) bear
  9. That sounds like my kind of day!
  10. I know, right?!
  11. I really wish Tackle Warehouse was closer. Waiting on UPS is not my forte’. ? Didn’t get a chance to go back out yesterday evening as my hands/fingers have developed trigger-finger and were hurting pretty bad in spite of getting steroid shots in them Monday. Let me just say that stung like the devil. Anyway, soon as the ‘ol hands ease off I’m gonna go back at it.
  12. Gonna try that. I was out there by sunup this morning thinking I’d beat the heat and catch a few. Guess I’ll try reversing that idea and see how it goes.
  13. Caught one this morning that might’ve weighed a pound and was maybe 12 - 14 inches and lost two others. The bite is sucking wind for me here. A friend and his family came over and he caught 2 bass using a t-rigged green pumpkin worm in maybe 20 minutes. One was decent sized too. ? I was checking him out to see if he was calling them to him. ? —- Mine, then his: I’ve tried a whopper plopper and had hit or miss luck so far but couldn’t catch a cold with a frog yet. Dunno why.
  14. I’m with @AlabamaSpothunter on this as well as tips/advice on bank fishing too. Since I’m limited to fishing from shore hearing from a pro on this would be great.
  15. Downed trees, docks, riprap or grass here
  16. 45*? It’s headed back up to the 90s again here. ☹️ Sweet rod! I like the handle on it. Look forward to hearing how it performs for you.
  17. Lost another one this morning when it jumped off a Ned-rigged worm. Got some EWG type ordered so I can Texas-rig them with a better hook. ?
  18. Nope. He’s on the lam I believe. I have asked the resident goose to keep an eye out for him. ? By the way, I’m Scott.
  19. Same here Katie! There’s a bass there who kept one of my Ned-rig hooks and I’d like it back. He was a slippery rascal! ?
  20. A few good lakes between you and me that would be good. Supposed to be ‘decent’ weather this week too! ?
  21. Maybe we should have a thread for “Best Dinks” or something like that. ? I’m sure we all would have plenty of offerings. I know I would.
  22. Managed to catch a couple this morning on the ultra-lite setup again. First was a 3.5lb scrapper caught on a wacky-rigged worm in blue/black. The next was a dink who had illusions of grandeur thinking it was gonna swallow a craw right off. ? Weather was nice with temps in the upper 70s and a nice breeze. —-
  23. My TW order is (hopefully) due soon and I included the Roboworms in it to try out. The pond bass here have been in love with longer worms lately and my supply of worms from Zoom and Yum Dingers are dwindling. ? Have not tried anything Googan but use Rages a good bit.
  24. Managed to pull a ~2lb-er out close to the spillway in our pond this morning. Was using lite tackle with a wacky rigged blue/black worm. Second cast I think and he busted the knot right as I got him on the bank. Heck of a fighter. ? Been real slow here too no matter what I throw nor how shallow or deep. Best thing that’s worked fairly reliably are worms in dark colors. —-
  25. Hey, have you seen these at Tackle Warehouse? Dirty Jigs Replacement Skirts They have a couple that look real close to that.
