  1. The funny thing is the same people who bash the proposal, are the same who praise the digital ''intelligent'' casting system, who casts worse than centrifugal ones, distance-wise, and with less control than simple linear mag one, for at least 4-5 generations.
  2. Surely. And he got very butthurt, even more so when I asked about him recording the casts.
  3. Nailed it... Someone on a BFS fishing group said some weeks ago he was casting 4g beyond the 43yd mark...
  4. It doesn't hurt. Maybe the ego of big brands fanboys.
  5. They were in-home gear, but the last models are banax projects, like the Komodo and Citrix series of baitcasters. Superb heavy-duty low-profile reels.
  6. That's what I use for Tarpons and Araipamas.
  7. I would love to see stats over casting distances and ones done per session.
  8. They like the cheap plastic of Shimano reels, of course. Quite understandable. It's made by Banax, a very decent brand, KK don't develop ****. I will wait for the price to reach a lower, more KK-wise, range.
  9. Alphas series have a lot of reels, you need to be more specific. SV lite is a custom Alphas-series based reel, under the usual partnership Daiwa-megabass. Casted one some 2 years go, felt like an Alphas CT SV. I never used the SS Air.
  10. Came to post the same thing. Calcutta Conquest 50 series.
  11. Gaslight, like downplay loss of quality as weight reduction strategy? The Bantam MGL seeing Shimano's apologists talking about weight reduction, from the top of it's 225g. The old hammer-based secondary AR clutch isn't that important up to MH fishing reels. Last time I saw it was on some super spinning reels like the Okuma Makaira. A stronger cage, made of high-quality plastics/nylon, is way more critical. I don't have Shimano Lures, but the black steel bearings and the FTB braking system, deserve praise.
  12. What an ARB/SARB ball bearing has to do with an AR-clutch bearing? Start the Skankin! LOL!
  13. Shimano MGL reels, Alphas CT SV...
  14. Thank god I skipped this one, LOL!
  15. I see you both lack the cognitive capabilities to understand the pun, LOL! That's a fine piece of work, a superb downplaying of the issues, related to weight stuff. Curiously all the weight reducing choices are, at the same time, cost-reducing ones. Mere, utter coincidences, indeed. Time already spoke itself, with the duralumin gearing scandal, a.k.a met buzz, the aforementioned infamous Curado G series... The cheap AR-clucth in the Stella series... The nylon paws in the cheaper reels, eroding after just few usages... I understand cheaper, fragile materials as a downgrade in quality. Am I wrong?
  16. I have both. The decrease in Shimano gear is borderline absurd. The Conquest/Calcutta series exhibit it quite easily.
  17. Overall, Shimano newer Spinning and Baitcasting reels are of inferior build quality than previous one. This can be easily noted in the newer Stella and Curado reels.
  18. Basically the CT and 103 frames are used by Daiwa for several decades.
  19. Exactly, at least two wraps. Traditional Alberto can be untied on continuous jerking and twitching.
  20. Piscifun reels are made by several less known factories in China. You can note that in the diversified frames and models the brand use. This is the reel who made Piscifun name. Superb value for money. Cal ''Payola'' Tacketour modus operandi, with their reviews. Daiwa got some bad ones from them, once stopped sponsoring the site. The Bad faith with Abu reels is astonishing... These reels from piscifun/kastking are absurdily good. Way better than the pricey crappy shimano sienna. Double-supported transverse cam in the price range is astonishing. I would love to see shimano being bashed as much as these cheap Chinese brands, over abusing plastics on its mid and high-end reels. The lack of coherence in the matter is pathetic.
  21. Neither I. And I use the modified alberto knot.
  22. Just one aspect of fishing, just another option, when long casting is needed. Why you dislike long casting? The funny thing is distance thing being the main motto of Shimano baitcasting reels... LOL!
  23. Thank god you weren't with me, in 2019, when my cheapy cheaspet chinese reel, with linear mag, outcasted a metanium'16 heavily, in a very demoralizing way. You probably couldn't bear the bullying he received for that...
  24. How I make my Kestrel elite understand it must have a lower performance than my pricey Curado BFS with a pathetic drag who gets loose with jerking and twitching?
