I found these forums a week or so ago when I was trying to research the veracity of the Michigan Master Angler records, along with trying to find any sort of recording of the official state record. I stumbled across an absolutely fascinating thread from 2019 discussing exactly what I was curious about. Y'all are some great sleuths, and dug up way more info than I would have found on my own. I figured this was a community I had to be a part of.
My grandfather first got me into fishing as a kid, mostly worm and bobber for white suckers in the Black River. And after I reached adulthood, I never fished much. I got fired from my job last summer and with all the free time on my hands, I decided it would be a good opportunity to start fishing again. And I was hooked, if you'll pardon the pun. I went fishing every day last summer. And now that I've got a new job, I go fishing at least once a week if I can.
I'll enjoy catching anything that bites, but I've grown quite fond of the river smallies. Nothing quite fights like a bronze back. And their topwater blow-ups are the best.
Thanks for letting me be a part. I look forward learning alot and having a blast on here when I can't be out at the river.
