  1. Got a 6.0 tonight. Haven't been getting out as much and this was the first good one in a while. Threw a plastic worm onto the edge of some pads and pulled it out onto open water, she blasted it. Missed a few others, wish I had got out there earlier. Again, this little bog has delivered. Can't wait to get out here in late fall and spring when the pads thin out/die off.
  2. A few nights ago I got a 4 and a 5.9 on a nearby bog. Caught the big one on a 3:16 lure company NoBull frog. These frogs look great coming through the water. They don't last long though but they do include a bottle of repair glue so maybe get a little more life out of them. I lost a giant on the same pond last week. Had it on briefly, got a good look a it. Next level fish. It was right there, then it wasn't. Just sat in the boat dead quiet for a few minutes. Headed out again tonight
  3. 5lb.15oz. Got him on a worm. I hadn't fished this pond(small bog) in a few years, don't think it gets much pressure. Got a few others on a spinnerbait earlier but went with a worm dropped in tight near the shore.
  4. Ended up being a pretty good night tonight. Started off slow. Got a couple near the end, back to back. Four fish in all, Three of them were over 3. All on plastic worms.
  5. Been fishing for bass the same way since I was 12. One rod with a spinnerbait, one with a plastic worm. Sometimes switch to a frog/ topwater when the weeds come in. It's worked well enough on the smaller ponds I fish that I just haven't bothered changing it up. So many other great lures and techniques that I just haven't got to until now. Ran into a coupe of different guy's back in March that were only throwing swimbaits and both had already caught fish over 7 this spring. It was finally enough for me to go get a third heavier rod and a couple of swimbaits . Last week I was going through the motions of giving it a chance, maybe 25 casts. Once, after I brought it up not really too focused or into it, noticed a giant wake slowly move away from the boat. Defiantly got my attention after that.
  6. Got a 6.4 tonight. Very end as it was getting dark. Maybe 2 feet of water in a grassy area. Hadn't got hardly anything all night, and for the past 2 weeks for that matter. Caught on a plastic worm, she waked up on it just after it hit the water. Also caught my first fish on a 7" glide bait.
  7. Got out for a few yesterday, nothing but pickerel. Todays gonna be good though.
  8. @1984isNOW Got her on a spinnerbait real shallow. She had a fishtail coming out of her throat.
  9. Friday skunk. Saturday went out to Robbins pond, fought the wind. 3.9 saved the day. Sunday got a couple of 3's on a small bog. Tonight got this 5.5 on third cast. Missed a brute that broke off.
  10. Went out for a couple hours tonight and got a 4.2 at the very end. Felt like a snag at first but then started moving to the side. Real nice healthy fish. Caught it on a worm that I dropped down near some new lily pads in about 5ft of water close to the shore.
  11. Saturday evening went to a small bog pond nearby. Sat in my canoe under an overhanging tree until the rain let up. Pond went to glass and and caught three bass around 2 lbs and missed about 4 others. Like a switch went off for about twenty minutes. Got quiet after that. Sunday and Monday nights fished a larger pond. Monday caught a couple pickerel while I got knocked around in the wind for hours. Monday more wind, only managed to catch a couple. Probably go tonight somewhere nearby and small.
  12. Went out last night and tonight and caught a bunch in 3 feet of water or less. The warmer days seems to have sparked them up. Most were 1-2lbs though I did get a 4.2 last night and this 4.11 tonight. Also, missed a big one at the end tonight as the sun went down. Most everything was on a spinnerbait.
  13. Yeah it's been a great start for me. It has not been easy though. Other than the 3 Fives I haven't hardly caught anything else. Had my share of skunks as well. Two of them I caught on a much larger pond than I'm used to fishing. Im trying to step out of my comfort zone, focus more now on places a bit larger and deeper that I know are holding more big fish. With a 12' canoe the hook sets and dealing in the wind can be an adventure though but hoping it will pay off. Also, thinking of getting a new rod to start fishing swimbaits. Just keep throwing those glide baits, you'll be hoisting another giant soon.
  14. Got this 5.0 tonight out of a bog pond that I hadn't fished in a few years. Almost no signs of life til I hooked this one. Caught on a plastic worm. She shot up out of the water like a cannon ball and looked bigger on first glimpse. Only fish of the night.
  15. South Shore, about 4 or 5 feet deep.
