pegging: I break the end of a toothpick off so it is just a little smaller than my bullet sinker. Then I shove the toothpick into the back side of the sinker. Then, I slide the sinker down until it is snug with the bait. If you can't move it, you might have too big of a piece.
skipping: Use a spinning rod for skipping. I skip mostly un-weighted plastic lures. It works great for unders docks or fish that are chasing shad on top. I keep my rod tip low to the water and make a fast side are jerk. Practice helps A LOT.
Weightless: I use weigtless when the fish are shallow or when I'm fishing heavy weeds, lily pads, or other structure that I want to fish over.
