Thanks folks, I put in a couple orders.

Both these and the Battle Baits are sold out, bad time to be shopping for them. Good thing I’m in no hurry.

Any recommendations for 3/16 double bladed and or 1/4 compact double bladed spinnerbaits? thanks

One can use these reliable occurrences to control the weather. For myself, if the lawn needs water I wash the cars. If it’s a crappy day and we want it to be sunny I leave my sunglasses at home.

I buy what I can afford, if it happens to be on sale, great.

Once summer hits and the rivers drop we’re not allowed to water but a few hours one day a week, ends any hope of a nice lawn. Wish I had back all the $ I put into it.

Not me, I’m retired. I do the yard work on crappy days or better yet, weekends. I leave weekend fishing to the worker bees, I much prefer the quiet of the weekdays.

I fall back to regular Agila’s in gold, if there’s fish I’ll catch something. No idea why, but I’ve never had luck with rooster tails, maybe a confidence thing.

I went cheap, Redhead, no complaints other than the sizing, as in too big. They do the job and pack into a pocket so they’re good on space. Not bibs though. I only stay out in light rain.

The only time I even think about using a mirror is to see how close I am to something, I too grew up with mirrors, old dog, old trick.

To wander a bit from the subject. I’ve noticed my parking straight skills are getting off a bit. I get out of the car/truck and see I’m not quite straight on between the lines, even if I backup and try again. At 68 I can already feel the day coming, time to let my wife do more of the driving. I also can’t see at night, that really bothers me. I’m going to have to refer my kids to this thread, after I delete my post.

We rarely buy coffee out, once in a while if we’re an hour or so from home, and it’s still a.m. I always take from home when fishing, not much choice that early in the morning. We use a Kourig at the moment, we were gifted the unit. When it dies I’m going to a Mr Coffee type drip machine. For the Kourig we were using Kirkland, by far the cheapest we could get but that didn’t last long as it tastes like crap. Changed to Peet’s off Amazon, .53 a cup, $750 a year. I see it went up in price to .58, $825 from now on. If I remember correctly a Dunkin Donuts coffee is $3.

I lost a lot when I was using straight braid, went to a fc leader, took care of most of them. If you refuse to use new lures the bite offs disappear too.

I use both 15 and 20, whichever I have along, still have to keep an eye on it for nicks.

FYI, if you have a DSG’s nearby they carry the Fury, at least ours does, you can handle one and decide for yourself. Software won’t let me spell out the store name.

I’ve only got one season on it but my SLX XT has seen nothing but jigs and spinner baits without issue. Might be like Amazon reviews, take em with a grain of salt. That said I did pick up a Curado mgl this winter, wanted a 2nd baitcast setup so I wouldn’t have to keep retieing when going from jig to spinner bait and wanted to bump up a notch from the SLX. We’ll see if this novice can tell a difference once it warms up some.

I’ve yet to catch anything from a freshly thawed pond. Sitting in the canoe is like sitting in a freezer.

that’s what I use, but smaller, bought when we traveled the country with the rv. Can’t beat them for being fairly quiet and pretty good on gas.

I agree it’d be nice to not need power for a few days, in my case I need it for heat if it’s cold and for the fridge and freezer if it’s hot. Seems to take 4 or more hours without power before I have to worry about either.

Like you I have a small generator that I rig into the furnace along with the fridge and freezer when needed. Having a transfer switch installed and running a few circuits like this is not a big deal, the hassle is you have to keep a gas generator fed with gas, keep 10 gallons on site which is rotated through the power equipment. Some generators can be modified to accept propane, maybe NG. Acquiring gas can be a pain in a prolonged outage. Folks around here who don’t mind spending the cash go with an automatic whole house propane.. I imagine you can get them for NG too (natural gas). I’ve needed the generator twice in almost 40 years, and October ice storm for 3 days, and a tornado for another few days. In my case going whole house isn’t worth the $.

All my Premiers have reel seats that loosen, I put plumbers tape on a few of the threads.
