Shimano Convergence 4 pc travel rod. Comes in a sweet case that fits nicely in a large check in luggage. Or it can be carry on luggage as well as I’ve done it on many occasions. Paired it with a Daiwa Fuego since it’s mag sealed so I’m salt water ready if I need to be.

Yellow belly on hollow body frogs. White for poppers and l have no idea why, it just works.

I use a 6’9” ML Shimano Zodias with 10 lb braid for small poppers. One thing I do is I use an easy sweeping motion when setting the hook. I learned the hard way that when I set it too fast and hard I end up pulling the trebles out.

I have this rod. Love it so far and it goes with me everywhere. It’s definitely a fast tip and so far it’s tossed a small popper (Megabass baby Pop x) and 1/8 ounce jig with a 3” Megabass Spark shad with ease. Heres a quick pic of the bend. Hope this helps.

Not sure where you live, so not sure if it’s available, but I started my daughters on an ice fishing rod/reels.

Love my Tatula P/F. But love how the Scorpion MGL feels in hand. But if I was to grab one, it would be the Tatula P/F for sure.

Joshuya and Sansui in the Shibuya district are a couple of my favourites. But it’s at least a good 45 mins from Haneda airport. You could take public transit there but beware it’s an underground maze but it can get you anywhere. It’s also operated by several subway companies so you may have to take a different line and pay a different fare. Getting around can be an overwhelming, one look at the subway maps and you’ll see. Google translate and Google maps were used heavily the few times I’ve been there. Locals are super helpful and friendly though. As for prices, it’s really not significantly cheaper as one would think. The selection is amazing though and I always spend hours wandering while my wife and kids rest their feet.

Agree with this comment. Could be braid dig. I’ve tried 20 and 30 lb braid on my Tatulas and I find 40 lb Suffix 832 to be what works for me.

Snell knot for me as well. Plus the sound that it makes when the tungsten hits the hook is nice and crisp, which I find works better for me as well.

I’ve been using the Elite P/F all summer now and so far so good. I have it paired with a Shimano Zodias currently. Palms great (even with my small hands). I use it for close quarters as well and it’s been fantastic. Especially with the longer handle. However, I’m still not used to the knobs on the handle. They’re not bad, very easy to grab but I’m still not used to turning it and it still feels awkward at times. I have other Tatulas and Curados so I’m used to the smaller knobs I suppose.

+1 on the Shimano Convergence 4 piece, except I have the spinning model. Currently using it on a trip as we speak. I was able to carry it on the flight without having to check it in as luggage. The carry case it comes with easily fits several lures, hooks etc in it so I didn’t even bring an extra tackle box. Bought this rod because of the price point and if it gets beat up a bit I won’t be hurting. Will be leaving this in my truck when I’m done my trip so I’ll always have it with me.

KP Duty brings up a good point. Anything you want to bomb, Tat 100 may be best as I find by mid season (in Canada) I have to respool the SV as my line capacity is gets low from re-tying (or break offs).

I have both as well and I prefer the SV. I find the SV more versatile as I have the option of throwing lighter lures if I want to. The SV also palms a bit better for me as I have small hands.

Zoom flukes and chatterbaits as well.
