  1. Ugh nassau county!!! Some big ones there tho at the right place and times. And yeah I’ve personally caught fish up to 8.6lbs and have lost two fish that were bigger that still haunt me today. Oddly enough a week after my 8.6 my daughter was born weighs 6.8 lbs lol
  2. Nice fish phish. I’m from eastern suffolk. Been fishing LI 30 plus years and ran into a few of those size fish over the years, what a rush!
  3. Me and wife are looking to relocate to this area from Long Island ny. Anyone on here from this area? Any advice? Areas to avoid or areas to try and be near? The fishing would be a bonus
  4. Bla Balancing weight
  5. Does Dobyns rods put weight on the butt of the fury rods?
  6. 12lb leader will be fine on 10lb braid
  7. 12 or 15lb big game for all my crank baits. Tried braid a few times and don’t like it for this application. The only crankbait application I can see it being useful is ripping traps through grass
  8. I’m old school always threw spinnerbaits and wanna start getting into chatterbait fishing. Tell me what I need to know. What’s everyone’s favorite trailer?
  9. I’ve been using all Dobyns fury rods since they first came out. The 704 or 734 will do the job. I’ve never fished the mojo bass but felt them and I just feel the Dobyns is a better overall rod
  10. Alberto knot is a good knot and simple to tie in just not a fan of connection knots in general but they are necessary sometimes
  11. Haven’t bought a new reel in a few years and want a new general purpose casting reel. Last reel I bought was a fuego ct and I liked it. Want to keep price $100-$125. What are my other options in this price range?
  12. I’ve used that exact style of head and I’ve found when it’s too weedy for a regular ned rig head you’re just better off fishing a different way
  13. This couldn’t be more wrong. Completely depends on the body of water you’re fishing and time of year.
  14. I’ve been using 10-15lb power pro for years and never had an issue.
  15. Yes using elaztech baits without glue is not a good idea. They constantly fall down the hook
