  1. Here's a pic from Cherokee Lk. in North Carolina that I took a few years ago... Here's one from a local central Florida phosphate that pit I took a while back. The lighting was bad though... Bull Frog on a lily pad... Gator in the rain... Last 1 I promise... A pair of Otters...
  2. You have a small population of small bass then, cause they woud tear a 4" worm up. He is dealing with alot of small bass and few large. he has to use a lure to attratc the big and not the little bass. Or he has to find the loners. Well, I wouldn't say that. I'm in Central Florida. I fish a lot of different lakes and pits. I catch small Bass and large Bass. I'm just saying that you don't have to use a large bait to get the big fish. I've gone the big worm route before and all it seems to do for me is keep me from catching as many Bass. I'd rather catch 50 Bass of all sizes than just one or two nice Bass. Usually when I fish deeper water and deeper drop offs (which in Fl may only be 6-8 ft) I find better fish on those spots anyway. I always look for vegetation as well in the "deeper spots".
  3. Well, at least 1 Bass is better than nothing!
  4. I hardly ever use large baits. I use a 4" finesse worm more than anything and catch a lot of nice Bass on them. Back in April I caught 2 Bass over 10#'s (one was 12.11#'s actually) all on this set up with a 1/0 hook and 12# test. 2 of my friends have recently caught Bass over 10#'s using this same method after I trained them. ;D Just don't give up. You'll get a big fish sooner or later and try the other areas like some have mentioned. I fish deeper water and drop offs a lot.
  5. It all depends on how they are biting. If they're biting really good, I don't wait as long. If it's a slow bite... I'll let the worm sit for up to 30 seconds sometimes and then work it VERY slow! I've caught a lot of fish with the worm just sitting there on bottom.
  6. Well, not very. When I was 13 I got a 14 Sea Nymph v-hull and I could handle it ok. A 10' jon boat will be much lighter.
  7. Sounds like you want to go fast!
  8. Congrats on your PB! Now do yourself a favor and go out and buy a digital camera.
  9. Darn you and your private fish pond! LOL!!! Looks like you had fun as usual! You know, if you can find a way to fatten up those fish... next spawn you 'll be cathing some 10+ lb Bass with all the 24-25 inchers you've been catching!
  10. I caught over 20 Bull Frogs on a jerk bait one day fishing in the grass! It was kinda fun! ;D
  11. 10' Jon boat?
  12. Hello mr mudfish! 8-)
  13. Nice Bass!
  14. Welcome!
  15. I really have no idea. I do remember one time that I caught 6 Bass starting on my very first cast and they were all back to back! I'm sure they were schooling. I ended up catching 16 that evening total, so they slowed down eventually.
  16. Yes, I'm familiar with the 1LE's. I've had a slew of F-Body's! The one I miss the most was my 1990 L-98 Formula 350. I had a 355 in it with ported heads, ported intake, ZZ9 520 lift cam, headers, off road pipe, CAI, Drag Lites, 2500 stall and a whole bunch of other stuff! My last car was a '99 SS with a Z06 cam, headers, off road pipe, SLP dual/dual 3" cat back, lid, 160 thermostat, LS1 edit, Yank converter... It was a mild set up A4 that put down almost 340 RWHP and ran low 12's and looked and sounded almost stock! I loved the Z-28's like yours. I also had 2 of them, but they were not 1LE's of course.

    Mudfish

They're actually kinda popular. They even have Mudfish tournaments. I don't remember where or when, but I read an article in a magazine that talked about the tournaments. They do fight good, but they are nasty to put in the boat.
  18. Never heard of them...
  19. All I can say is that the Yo Zuri Hybrid is some strong stuff! I used it for close to 2 yrs and never had a single problem with it. I also like P-Line, but I think the Yo Zuri is a little bit stronger.
  20. Sounds like you're off to a good start! Abu makes a good reel no matter what model. I fished with a Morum for close to 10 yrs and it was still as smooth as silk when I finally sold it to a buddy a few months ago. 8-)
  21. I've noticed you posting a lot of long Bass lately that only weigh in the 6lb range. Does that pond not have much bait fish in it? Just curious. Nice Bass by all means... just seems kinda on the lite side for a 25" Bass. BTW, nice Z-28!
  22. Gopher turtle? As in Tortoise? Anyway, I can't help much with the Catfish question. I try and avoid them. I, however, would not put my thumb in their mouth!
  23. Nice Bass! I'm gonna have to check out Stick Marsh one of these days!
