  1. 2 x 22 Bantam A 1 x 20 Metanium B 2 x 18 Bantam MGL 1 x Chronarch MGL 2 x 17 Scorpion DC 1 x Curado MGL 71 K 1 x Vanford 3000 1 x Stradic FL 3000 1 x Stradic FL 1000 2 x Spheros SW 3000 Never had any problems but worn-out bearings on few of them, I know, I know someone in here thinks Shimano reels are "Low quality crap" that have all these "Problems". So maybe next time based on my experience, I'll consider buying........................more Shimano! Tatula SV TW 70 maybe?
  2. It's a nice reel with nice tech but seems counterproductive???
  3. This^^^ where is the new Chronarch and the new Metanium DC???
  4. After playing around with Shimano baitcasting reels from the Casitas up to the 20 Metanium, I decided that the 22 Bantam is my "IT" reel from now on or at least for the time being until Shimano release a new one, I now have two 18 Bantam and two 22 Bantam. Something about the 22 Bantam that makes it better than the 20 Metanium, like a round reel in a low profile form, for me anyway. I still like and baby my Metanium though.
  5. I know exactly what you mean since I've dealt with this myself, I usually swap where they're originally installed if my reel comes with two of them (BNT3927), Usually Shimano reels that are equipped with MM gears comes with 2 of those ball bearings and usually that works for me. I think those bearings get a little "raspy" when water gets in them.
  6. that's normal for the XG model (maybe 96MM?), below is the HG model and has 90MM handle.
  7. Cool! Let us know....
  8. The G doesn't have the MGL spool but looks a lot better in my opinion. Same price so it's really up to you or that darn monkey! I've been wanting the G myself just never pulled the trigger for some reason,
  9. Maybe they need to bump the brake control up to 11 while they're at it!?
  10. I was hoping for them to release a new Chronarch with at least the latest 6 brake shoe SVS and not so new MGL 3 spool. That's what I meant and sorry if I confused you?. You are right, the current Chronarch is still pretty darn good.
  11. I also have both, I'd say the Chronarch would be a better choice, but I would wait for the new one to come out hopefully sometimes this year, I'll bet the new Chronarch will have the new SVS infinity brakes and a new MGL spool. If you can't wait and don't mind the overall weight, then check out the new Bantam A. You can't go wrong with the Metanium though.
  12. Yes it is exactly that, I bought one a while back and liked it a lot but since I got it in an open box, with few scratches and wasn't sealed so I ended up returning it and since I already owned both the Stradic and the Vanford, I felt like I need to go Twin Power to really experience a whole lot of difference. Still I would buy another Sustain if I need to, It's a nice reel. Maybe the twin power is like a Bantam version of a spinning reel?
  13. I agree 100 percent. I have two of them in 3000 size and I'm not sure why they're underrated for an aluminum body reel. They're awesome for its price.
  14. Miravel schematic is not yet available at Shimano's website or at least I can't find it, I could be wrong but I think its still has the transverse cam just by looking at its line lay on the spool and where it's position in the Shimano's line up. Ultegra and up are all worm shaft as far as I know. Nothing wrong with the transverse cam though.
  15. I'm pretty sure Vanford 1000 size and up are all equipped with worm shaft oscillation system with the exemption of the 500, not sure why. Maybe because of its size, no room for a worm shaft or the spool height to short.
  16. It is an all-around MH rod for sure...
  17. yes, definitely for that but 3/8 was the max I've used it for bottom contact and 1/2 on soft plastic swimbaits, it was fine and not sure about 3/4 and above.
  18. I have one and it feels between fast and mod fast IMHO. either way you can't go wrong with the Expride for its versatility. 1/2 oz is the sweet spot for me.
  19. Few years ago, I've bought 2 Dobyns Colt series, 703 and 704 a few months ago I bought a Kayden 714 and based on my experience with all three, the 4 power is really a medium heavy and 3 is more of a medium IMO. The 714 "Fast Action" in fact is a little softer and slower action than my 7' MH Loomis GCX and I love using the 714 with 3/8 chatter bait Mini Max. I'm almost certain that Dobyns Rods actions and tapers are all the same throughout their lineup but then again, I could be wrong.
  20. I guess I'm one of those...?
