  • About Me
Stay at home mom. Love movies, music, and reading. New to fishing but have had an interest for a long time. I'm a home body so fishing is an excuse to make myself go outside lol but I also do enjoy myself once I'm out in the fresh air and by the water. I'm pretty open minded and easy to talk to, whether it's about fish or something else.

  1. i look forward to my next time on the water. i need to bring my tape measure and get some kind of scale so i can actually tell how big my fish are. but this time, i was just out to see if i could and i did, and i loved it.
  2. Am I correct that those were largemouth I caught? still learning to identify them, and the park i fished at has them listed as the only bass type that they have in their lake. Oh i had an absolute blast. that first little guy i caught was within five minutes of being on the water. the second caught about an hour or so in. did a little spinner bait fishing near the end just for kicks but nothing seemed interested, but i also probably only cast that spinner out 10-maybe 15 times, just kinda goofing around before the storm rolled in. but i caught my bass, which is what i went there for, and it made my day.
  3. funny enough, caught these on walmart bought zoom worms

  5. the first is the smaller of the two. i had a third, bigger, and gorgeous dark green bass hooked but i guess i didn't set the hook well enough and he hopped off the hook when he breached the surface. so he's my first "the one that got away" story but even though the two i caught are small, they're the most beautiful fish i've ever seen ❤️ sorry for not including my face, i'm kinda camera shy (my husband would say i have no reason to be but some folks just don't like their picture taken lol) Caught them along the dam with a texas rig worm black with a 1/8oz bullet weight. so thanks to those who suggested that cuz that's what i went with and it worked. it's official. I've got the "Bug" now XD
  6. only got two and a half hours on the water because a storm was rolling in. BUT. thanks to y’all’s advice, i caught me two fishes. pics to come.
  7. today im goin fishin! it’s about time lol
  8. tuesday everyone should be back at work. hoping that’s the case anyways lol
  9. alright. tentative plans for a fishing day tuesday, assuming the weather holds out. if it’s off an on rain i live close enough incan go home and wait it out then head back out. hoping it goes through this time and i can try out some of the advice y’all have given me. very excited and hopeful.
  10. sadly didn’t end up not getting to go today, not because of weather but because my husband was sick. there will be other chances. I live pretty close to the lake.
  11. I’m not a man lol. I don’t expect to learn everything or excel quickly, but the information is helpful nonetheless. Yeah, some of the advice is more involved than some, but it’s advice i can keep and use at some point. Knowledge is power and such. I am keeping it simple for right now, just enjoying the time I spend on the water and outside. And the additional advice gives me new things to try while I’m out. Hoping I don’t get stormed out, today. Keeping a close eye on the weather, might have to go out another day.
  12. thanks for all the advice and encouragement, everyone. i’ll try to remember to take pictures of my rigs so y’all can give me further pointers and if i land something i’ll be sure to share pictures of that. there are a lot of people to respond to so i’ll just reply in bulk here yes, im bank fishing. there’s plenty of submerged logs/trees speckled around the lake (the lake is in two parts) including a dam so i’ll be sure to take a good look at those. ive got to make a trip out to the store tmo so i’ll keep my eyes open for some of the things y’all listed (some i already have conveniently) ive got videos and images saved relevant to y’all’s suggestions so i’ll be reviewing those some more before i head out on monday. just an addition, thanks for being so welcoming.
  13. got some 1/8oz jig heads. i’ll keep my eye out fornthise grubs next time im at the store. watched a video on jigging several days ago. looks like the sort of thing that takes a while to get used to. fortunately, the days i have free i have that sort of time lol
  14. i’ll do my best. i’ll hop on monday evening to let you all know how it went. hopefully i’ll have a pic to show along with the story lol
  15. I've got Monday planned to go out to the local lake, so I'll be able to try these suggestions while I'm out there. It'll be cloudy and not too hot, so I'll be able to spend several hours out there.
