  1. Any of you northern guys (WI, MN, MI, area and around there) what is yall preferred lure of choice for the reeds? Not the slimy disgusting algae hydrilla type weeds, but clean water reeds. Im asking because i just got back from a week trip from MN and I just couldn't capitalize on any bites in isolated reeds. Absolutely nothing worked, any thoguhts?
  2. definitely a ned rig/drop shot. for the ned rig, i use a small finesse trd in coppertreuse paired up with a 1/5 or 1/6 oz ned head. For the dropshot, i know i might get hate for this, but the googan baits drag n drop in pink has done wonders for me from big smallmouth to walleye. Also jackall crosstail shads roboworms are perfect for more "finessey" drop shot-ing. with these two techniques i seem to catch fish no matter how bad the fishing gets.
  3. What are your guys' thoughts on current available outboards for bass boats? I am a merc guy by heart my first boat had one but that was years ago, but I hear that they aren't reliable in the long run. My local dealer is trying to sell me on a suzuki 200ss4/yamaha 200 SHO to pair with my vexus avx2080. I understand that reliability is key, but i want max performance. What should I do? Stick with merc and get max performance, get a yamaha and get japanese quality/performance, or get suzuki and get guaranteed turn key and start, with a mid-performance hit? Thanks.
  4. I am in the market for a bass boat, aluminum, tin, or glass. I have been eyeing the Vexus AVX2080 for what seems like forever. I have researched literally everything about that boat and I am in a dilemma. One thing that is suspicious is that, yes even though it is tin (the hull itself is at least) I believe that I should be able to put a 250 proxs since it is a 20 foot boat. If they dont let met put a 250 on the back could that mean that they break if that amount of force is applied? Also I am confused if it is overpriced. For tin+200hp merc and minimal customization (powerpole blades, force TM, and 1 console and 1 bow garmin 106sv's) the total price is around $59k. After reading more, i soon learn that a lot of the interior is fiberglass (nothing fiberglass about the boat itself, just used to make sterage bins/cooler/console/step) Is it the use of fiberglass on the inside that makes it that expensive? Are there any things that I am unaware about? Please let me know. Would help a lot.
