I'm real interested in making my own soft plastic baits. Does anyone know where to purchase the items I would need to make my own? Thanks.

So there's really no way around it at idle? Does one oil smoke less than another?

I've got an 85 Yammie 115hp (115ETLK) thst runs very very nicely so far. My only issue is that it smokes quite a bit. I'm using Mercury 2cycle oil at 50:1 and can't really think of any other issues. Any ideas?

About the middle of the rear aspect of your motor, there's a little plate sticking out of a round disc on the upper part of the lower unit of the motor. That is a trim tab. Check to see if it is out of center and fine tune it by adjusting it slightly the other way that it is pulling until it straightens out. Hope this helps.

I'm reading some of the WallyWorld vs. Dicks posts and I have to really agree. I think these megamonsters are putting our local tackle shops out of bidness. Now these are places where you can go, not only to purchase your favorite rigs, but to get a good "fish story" (lots of those...), good tips and meet some new fishin buddies. Not to mention the usually great product support you get from these places. The superstores don't have this kind of friendly down home environment. A couple of places that come to mind around me are The Minnow Pond II in SE Roanoke and Always Outdoors in Salem. Any of the other locals know of any more shops here around town? What do the rest of you think about your local tackle shops? (Isn't Tackle and Bait Shop and old Indian work for "house of tall tales"?)

In this day of outrageous gas prices and price gouging by "The Man", I was hoping one of our resident tech-heads could answer: I have a 115 2-stroke Yammie, do I get the best gas efficiency at full throttle or at 1/2 or 3/4 throttle? This should be interesting....

Only paid 2G's for it. I'm sure I'll put another 10G's into it before its all said and done...but I feel it was a good investment for the money.

I just bought a used 16ft Ebbtide Dyna Trak with a 115hp Yammie. In great shape for the most part. motor runs like a charm. Anyone ever had one of these boats or know anything about them. Any anecdotes, etc. will be appreciated. Looking forward to slaying some big'uns this year.
