  1. Hmm...... Named the first one after A-Jay's dog in appreciation for A-Jay telling him the location of Menderchuck West? Inquiring minds want to know......
  2. Thanks for posting that vid @A-Jay. Now you and @Dwight Hottle know how the rest of us feel!!! ?
  3. 10-4. I keep in touch with it, but don't really have much tension on the line. Semi-slack is a good description. I have about as much faith in a blade as you have in a spinnerbait. LOL. I know they'll catch 'em though. I'm gonna try picking up the pace with it like Alex was fishing it this spring, If I can put that A-Rig down that is. My ability to do that after last fall's Muskiepalooza is questionable at best.
  4. That's some good stuff right there brother!!! Congrats!!! I've never done well with blades either. I've always fished them like everyone says to, subtle lift and let fall to the bottom semi slack. I'm gonna have to try 'em like you're fishing them here. Thanks for the lesson. What's the water temp?
  5. That one was 43", but my goodness it had some girth. Between egg development and feeding on huge schools of gizzard shad, some of the females I caught last fall were absolutely obese. Back On Topic: I was throwing that A-Rig on either 50# 832, or 40# Fins Infinity, regular palomar knot, drags cranked down tight. Zero issues. The palomar has always been a solid knot for me with every type of braid I've tried. It's a simple knot that has consistently proven to be plenty strong. Both those braids have been very good for me as well.
  6. They'll bite right through braid, but they ain't biting through those A-Rig wires.
  7. March/April and November/December are prime time for the Esox.
  8. This is how I like to test my braid. Regular ol single palomar works just fine for me.
  9. Good rig for the $$$.
  10. Your first double tops mine Alex. LOL.
  11. Prayers for his loved ones.
  12. How does it flow compared to lead?
  13. LOL. Saw an article this morning about Coca Cola getting sued over OJ contaminated with this same stuff. It's everywhere, ya can't avoid it. No point worrying about it. Eat fish, drink OJ, be happy. I'm gonna live forever anyway. ?
  14. Uh oh... Looks like everyone better stop drinking OJ too.
  15. My older cousin talked me into touching a nine volt battery on my tongue to see if it was good. IT WAS!!! LOL. That dirty bugger.
  16. My "go to" is 1/8oz heads on the middle and bottom arms, and two dummies on screwlocks up top. This fishes well from 2' down to about 15'. I wouldn't run jigheads on the top two even if they were legal here. They just don't get bit, so no point in having two more hooks to snag.
  17. I'd start with a beaver style bait on a flippin rig. 3/8 - 1/2oz, green pumpkin or black/blue depending on visibility. I agree with Phil on this. A beaver on a snelled flippin rig is great for this. It has a gliding spiraling action on the fall, if you let it fall with a bit of slack, up to about 1/2oz.
  18. That's the time period I really got hooked on 'em, especially on a flippin rig. I barely throw a jig in cover anymore, opting for the Sweet Craw on a flippin rig instead. I can fish that thing through the nastiest of stuff. I'll switch to a jig on offshore stucture.
  19. I'm in agreement with Hackney. I fish a beaver style bait most of the time when fishing bottom contact, regardless of temp. That natural looking glide produces year round. I save the action trailers for really dirty water, and on swim jigs.
  20. All my local waters are heavily pressured, but I'm often out there when others aren't. Very early in the spring and late in the fall, at night, and I get to fish lot's of weekdays thanks to my rotating work schedule.
  21. Mmm Hmm. Tells me all I need to know about it.
  22. Who funded this study?
  23. Best bang for the buck. Ark Rods provide a lot of rod for the $$$ IMO. If they have the taper I'm looking for, that's the route I'm going. I'm not sure how many Ark's I have now, but it's getting close to 20. Never an issue with any of them, and I'm not easy on 'em. I have several Lancer's, Tharp,s and Invoker's, and a Cobb. All are outstanding rods at their respective price points.
