  1. I don't fish leaders often, but do when bottom fishing deep sometimes, just to make it easier to break off snags. An alberto passes through those guides just fine for me. 40# braid to 15-20# mono.
  2. ? This should be designated as the solution!!! LOL!!!
  3. We need a facepalm emoji on here. Hope your buddy is able to salvage it.
  4. I'd definitely recommend starting with the Texas rig. Simple, and effective year round. A beaver type bait, and a trick worm will get it done on bottom, and a fluke and a senko will catch 'em up in the water column. Keep it simple to start, and expand from there as you wish.
  5. Well... So much for that....... Fell clear to 37th.
  6. I've got 10 Tharps a Cobb and a Lancer Pro. Zero QC issues with any, and absolutely my favorite rods, especially for bottom contact. I thought about selling my Dobyns Kadens and Sierras after I started accumulating these, but rather than losing that $$$ on them, I decided to keep them for moving bait duty. Still like 'em for that.
  7. Berkley Fusion weedless wacky hooks are awesome. I fish them through some fairly gnarly stuff. The flouro weedguards work well and are durable.
  8. Thanks. This is Atwood. 1540 acres, 15 minutes from my house. I live within 40min of 5 of the Muskingum Watershed lakes. The Tuscarwaws River also runs through my town. It's chock full of smallies and saugeye. One of the best parts of OH for fishing IMO.
  9. Dance always was, and still is my favorite. I was looking for an all mesh summer fishing hat last spring, and thought of Bill's T hat. Looked online and found Bill has a store run by his daughter Pam. Bought a hat, and got an e'mail from Pam asking if I'd like it autographed. We had a very nice e-mail conversation, and we actually discussed watching her dads show, after saturday morning cartoons, and before big time rasslin. Few days later I recieved my hat.
  10. My local boy Fletcher having a solid day two. Neck and neck with J Lee. Good to see.
  11. Try it one of these NIGHTS. ? Outside weed edges are usually a good place to start with it after dark. Rocky structure too.
  12. Guilty as charged.
  13. LOL. Those feathers really are sweet. I bought the L and ML to pair with my Curado BFS and 70 MGL for light stuff based on FryDogs recommendation. The only spinning rods on my deck now are UL's for crappie fishin.
  14. Countdown ended at 09:47. Ended with a skunking, but it ended none the less. Water was high, brown, and 36.5 - 40, still some ice on parts of the lake. About as tough as it gets. Was nice to get out and take the boat for a spin, after working on it nearly every day off for the past month and a half. It's not done, but it's close. Will probably finish it up Sunday. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Suits me and the waters I fish well.
  15. @PhishLI @Mike L I got to try out my Phenix Feather 7'1" ML/ Curado 70 MGL combo today. REALLY nice combo for small cranks, jerks, poppers, grubs, swimmers, neds... I mean REALLY NICE!!! ?
  16. ? I don't tournament fish, but they really oughta put me on the pro staff at this point. LOL
  17. Trigged beaver or worm will put some in the boat a huge percentage of the time. If I could only throw one setup, that'd be it.
  18. Took 'em six days to process and ship my last rod. They've been relegated to a "sale only" retailer for me. Maybe not even then.
  19. Yep, it does. So does the Offshore Special. I definitely consider them Mag MH's. I've got an even dozen Arks now. Never been happier with a rod purchase than I am with these.
  20. 10-4. Same story when you drive a 40 ton bomb for a living. Over a 100yd drop off the left side of that turn. I crawled down that sucker at 3mph in 1st that day. Seat belt off so I could bail if needed. Pucker factor? You couldn't have hammered a pin up my butt with a sledgehammer!!! LOL Thanks for your service Bluebasser. You are appreciated brother.
  21. I picked up a pair of wide receivers gloves yesterday to try out. Full silicone palm and fingers give a fantastic grip on the rod and good feel. Made a few pitches in the back yard and was happy with the way they felt. Dunno if the silicone on the thumb will hold up or not, but these may end up being a good option, especially on cooler days. Cutters brand, only $18.
  22. Im gonna live forever. I'm gonna cross that river. I'm gonna catch tomorrow now...
  23. I'm good with cork or EVA. Not a fan of wynn grips.
  24. I go about it the same way.
