  1. I have been fortunate enough to be able to fish with one recently. I fished with the 7’5” FPR. Good rod, plenty of sensitivity a little tip heavy. Rod weighs 5.7 ounces compared to the 5.2 ounces my buddies imx pro in the same specs. Not sure what the E6x weighs. Blank definitely is a different material than the imx pro and E6x rods. GCXs blank has a little bit of a lighter gray color. Guide spacing is very different between the two rods. The GCXs first guide (closest to the reel) is located where the second guide of the imx pro is located. The imx pro has 10 guides and the gcx has 9. Balance is about the same between the two rods but you can definitely feel the difference in weight. Imx pro is more of a true heavy, gcx is more like a mag heavy. Those are my two cents about the rod. Only used it for a day.
  2. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I snapped my Zodias XH 7’5” rod. Fish hit on the end of a 50 yard cast in heavy grass on a frog and upon the hookset I heard I brisk snap. I think to myself that I broke my 65lb braid but look down to see the majority of my rod missing. With just the reel I crank in a 4.52 pound largemouth that helped me place second in a club tournament. The rod broke clean about 5 inches above the handle. Not all strandy and stuff just a clean break across. Not sure why. I have had this rod for about 7 months now and take great care of this rod because it’s one of my nicer rods. Also I know I’m not setting the hook to hard. I’m usually a smallmouth guy who fished light line and I know overdoing a hookset only causes problems. Do you think shimano’s warranty will cover this? Does anyone have experience with their warranty?
