  1. You should have shims that came with the reel - that’s what they’re for. You can probably find a how-to on YouTube.
  2. Not nearly as much as I used to. Thank God.
  3. Well, it’s nice to hear about something that didn’t have to go to an appeals court. I can’t afford it, not interested in it, and I don’t fish tournaments.
  4. 24 fish in 3 hours weeds or otherwise ain’t bad. I fail to see the problem.
  5. Hackney has always been one of my favorites. Probably because I look at him as his generation’s Denny Brauer.
  6. No. Retired Navy and spent years at sea with no problems. I knew guys that did and they just embraced the suck - cryin’ about it isn’t going to help.
  7. When Elias was named GM I had hopes that he could do for the O’s what he did for the Astros. It’s taken 4 years, but I think the results are beginning to show. If we end the season at .500 or above I’ll be happy. The future is looking pretty good.
  8. ML spinning gear and #10 mono is my go to for river smallies.
  9. There’s your answer. Not all questions require considering XXX number of opinions and even an informed opinion is still just an opinion. Or…. You can go down the bottomless rabbit hole.
  10. I currently have several Lew’s and Daiwas. I’ve used alot of brands over the years and I honestly don’t remember ever thinking “This reel doesn’t cast far enough”. I guess I need to pay more attention.LOL!
  11. Anything other than a phone.
  12. As much as I’d like to isolate myself from all the political insanity in the world, I believe that a big part of the reason we’re in this position is because most of us were indifferent and uninformed for way too long. My mental health would probably be better if I tuned it all out, but I won’t do it. It’s the reality, and it ain’t pretty, but at least I won’t be taken by surprise.
  13. For $150-160, get the SV and you’ll never have to wish you had. I prefer the SV over the 100.
  14. Since I quit drinkin’ I’m no longer a mosquito magnet and I think B-complex helps. When I do get bit, they itch like heck.
  15. July 2002 at dusk on a jitterbug. 6lbs. 7oz.
  16. A $200 gamble. It’s your money.
  17. Too bad shows like Leave it to Beaver aren’t made anymore. Maybe if kids were watching shows like that they’d grow up to be better adults. Andy Griffith too. The themes of these shows was always about doing the right thing and there were alot of useful lessons to be learned. RIP Tony Dow.
  18. I have 3 of the older models. My brother fishes Stradics, and I’ll take a Caldia any day.
  19. 1 to 4. If I have too many rods, sometimes I don’t spend enough time with any one bait to figure out what’s working. I only fish one lake and I usually have what I need. Sometimes I just take 1 spinning rod with an underspin with a grub or paddletail and don’t worry about anything.
  20. I put “revo” in the search block and there are ALOT of revos on closeout.
  21. Exactly. Worst thing that could happen is you’ll get a better idea of what you want/need. Those BPS Crankin’ sticks are underrated and overlooked. I’d bet you’ll like the rod you already have.
  22. Dino or Synthetic?
  23. I bought a box of steaks from a guy once. He had a pickup load and was selling them cheap. As he was driving away I realized I’d been fast talked into the deal, but I think the meat had been stolen and it wasn’t a bad deal. Generally I just send ‘em packin’.
  24. Some people spend a week researching this stuff, others, not so much. If you want to keep it simple, below is what I consider good bang for the buck. A Medium 1/8-1/2oz rod should suit your needs, or maybe you prefer Medium Light. There are several manufacturers that offer combos - Lews has a few good ones. Or you can buy the rod and reel seperately. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/daiwa-fuego-lt-bass-pro-shops-pro-qualifier-2-spinning-rod-and-reel-combo
