  1. Bait monkey had me swing by the local tackle shop today. 4 packs of 3/0 jungle flipping hooks, 1 pack of 3/16 sled heads, 1/8 & 1/4 stand up jig heads, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 flashy swimmer, some 1/32 Ned heads, 3 packs creature hawgs, 1 pack chigger craw, 2 packs magnum lizzards, 3 packs regular lizards, 1 pack speed worms, 3 packs local stick baits, 5 blade baits, 2 packs flipping tubes and some skirts.
  2. Owner offset round bend with cps, preferably light wire, unless I am fishing heavier cover. Although I have never bent one of the light wire ones out yet, I have used braid and everything. Definitely my favorite brand by far.
  3. Well that got more expensive than I planned lol. I have plenty of high end gear but I appreciate cheaper things just as much oddly. Been wanting to try a Abu Garcia baitcaster. Decided on the new pro max wanted to match it up with a plx rod. Went to the local tackle shop and they had a st croix victory rod in finally, so I grabbed it 7,3 Marshall some 15lb invisix a jig and some trailers and some pink worms. Don't know why.
  4. I have 1 bantam, it's probably one of my favorite reels. No issues with it and it works great.
  5. Nothing special from me, off work currently trying to get a new car. Pike came on a blade bait megabass at the end of a long cast had 8 or less single wraps on the spool. Surprised me with co poloy line. Bass came 2 hours later. It was a good day.
  6. Congratulations on the two new pbs they are really nice fish.
  7. A few more things the monkey convinced me to buy lol, I remember hearing about these spinnerbaits. Figured they were worth a try.
  8. I don't think they are the popper is boo yah, I think the squarebill is a bomber jerkbait is a smithwick lipless is cotton cordell. I saw this kit last week and my brain is a little foggy, 3rd shift does that to you. Now I am off to bed have a good day.
  9. Latest haul some lipless cranks by duo realis a spro jerkbait and some terminal tackle.
  10. I bought a st Croix MOJO bass glass rip and chatter rod, it's a heavy moderate rod rated 1/2-1 3/8 Oz. It's a decent rod I like it, I run a Curado k in 6.2 on it with 16 lb abrazx. The rod was $150.00 I think, I have also used a MOJO bass mh/f and that works great also. The last one I used was a zebco omega medium rod with a lews xfinity with 30 lb braid, it worked also not ideal but it hauled in a 17 inch bass so badly covered in weeds that you couldn't see the fish.
  11. Jig for me, I was supposed to focus on it this year, but plastics took over lol. The reason it's hard for me is because I don't have a lot of experience with them and I don't always take my kayak out. I like to go wading a lot.
  12. Congratulations, yeah I have heard that a lot of people like the 12 hour shift schedule like that.
  13. I get paid more money and can move up to a supervisor position from it lol. I also get double time on Sunday.
  14. Nothing special from me, but still some fish. Better than nothing, it's a struggle to go fishing anymore. Got a promotion yay, only 4 days a month off boo. Two tiny bass caught on bass color strike king ocho 5 inch dipped in chartreuse jjs magic, next small bass caught on a duo apex ghost firetiger squarebill, lost a 15-17 One when it came to the surface and did it's beautiful upside down head shake. I knew that was coming when it came to the surface. The last one was caught on a pop r in red eye perch color, not too bad. Well good luck to everyone who is still at it, have a good one.
  15. They are definitely worth it, there's nothing quite like them.
  16. I have two Mets also they are sort of unruly at first but settle down after some use. It's very frustrating at first though, when you have 15 different reels and don't have issues with them it can be different for sure.
  17. Welcome from Michigan.
  18. Congratulations on the new pb that's a nice fish.
  19. Nothing special two tiny one's along with a tiny perch on a perch jerkbait lol. Had one more small bass on the jerkbait but he came off right at the front of the kayak and I had a pipsqueak come off also. I have to say it was one of those day's, fishing normally relaxes me not today though. Probably a little over a foot swells at times today made standing and fishing in the kayak fun. Two lakes I have not been out on with a vessel of sorts in years. I didn't get skunked and only threw my tiny jerkbait in one tree, got it back at least not very much room in the tiny channel.
  20. The zodias is rated for 3/16 to 1/2 with the 7lb braid I can cast less than a gram consistently and cast 3-5 grams a very long ways.I like the 7lb braid it's good haven't had any issues and have caught some ok fish with it.
  21. It basically comes down to if you really want to use a baitcaster with light weight lures and line. I have one setup I use for it and enjoy it a lot but as with everything in life it can come down to how much money you want to spend. My setup is fairly cheap but it works and I am happy with it curado bfs and zodias ml with 7lb braid, I need a different rod to go lighter but without ordering online it makes it very hard to acquire rod's.
  22. Welcome from southwest Michigan. You will find this place very helpful and informative be prepared to learn a lot.
  23. The only nrx that's locally located is a 916 I think, but if I had a choice it would be a 904c. I have a glx 894 and love it also a conquest 844c mbr that I love and I am hoping to have my 843c mbr conquest back before the opener next year. Out on warranty ?it's been 5 long months so far, my local store sent it in for me so I have no clue.
  24. I try to mimic the different colors of there forage, people act like I am crazy when I tell them that orange and green, blue helps me mimic gills or sunfish. It works for me so I keep doing it lol.
  25. Well after procrastinating for most of the season I finally bought one, it was hard to choose one really. With all of the reviews of digital scales being all over the place it makes you leary to spend money on something that might not work right when you need it lol. Now I probably won't catch a fish worth weighing the rest of the year, I still have time to hit my goal but it won't be easy. My goal is a 6lb largemouth not impossible but harder to do here in Michigan.
