  1. According to my LMB Weight chart, 19" could be as much as 3.95lb's. Of course those are estimated weights that could vary depending on season, etc.
  2. Nice crappie. Good eating I hear.
  3. Spent some quality time with the son-in-law today. Had another 10 or so that weren’t picture worthy but fun to catch nonetheless.
  4. Looks like a nice outing to me. Congrats
  5. Very nice in any case. But, angle of hang doesn’t change the law of gravity.
  6. Agree with all the above. Love my zoom.
  7. I too fish an electric only lake and my poor little 12v doesn't do well at top speed all day. If I stay at about mid-speed, I can fish all day but at top, I'm lucky to bet 3 hours, depending on the prevailing winds.
  8. I've caught a few on a Tiny Torpedo. Lost what would have been a PB on a frog.
  9. I haven't tried any of the H2O baits but I've been tempted. Maybe it's time.
  10. Welcome to the forum. A lot of good info here.
  11. Welcome aboard.
  12. Welcome back to the joy of fishing. I took a long hiatus myself after all my rods and tackle was stolen out of the back of my truck just after leaving the service. My kids got me back into it a little over a year ago and I'm wondering now why I ever stopped.
  13. I suspect your wife gratefully put that policy back up. The Lord works.
  14. I don't know about the scent but, that looks pretty much like a standard Culprit worm to my old eyes.
  15. Excellent info @bulldog1935. I find that when I'm casting for distance, there will often be a little professional overrun. I manage it with a little thumb pressure and by raising the rod upwards to compensate. Usually, it will sort itself out between the two actions. Wind direction and velocity definitely plays a part in it. My most successful long casts occur when I use more wrist and less arm.
  16. Outstanding. Did it tow you around a bit? I once caught a 4-5 pound LM in a canoe. That was back in my Army days but I remember he was moving my little canoe around till I got him in ?
  17. Lowe Boats sells one for $715 plus shipping and tax. I'm betting Aurora Canvas is more in that neighborhood. 99% of my usage will be to keep the sun and debris out of the boat when not in use.
  18. That M-K knot looks easy to tie. I may have to give it a go. I have broken off on the Palomar on hookset a few times but assumed it was my fault for not checking my line often enough.
  19. What is this M-K knot?
  20. I'd definitely agree with that. I only drop shot on a spinning rig.
  21. In my case, I feel I have more control over the cast when using a BC. The only advantage I see to a spinning rig would be being able to cast lighter baits and I could see where you could potentially pitch easier (though I've never done it). Line twist on a spinning reel makes them less desirable to me.
  22. It's been a very productive pattern for me using a Yumdinger (Watermelon/Red Flake). I was dubious at first but it's out produced texas rig for me. Either it's the technique, or I've just gotten better at putting the bait where it needs to be.
  23. @Jeremy MWhat I figured out is that I could not edit the profile picture until I'd made 10 posts and graduated from "fry" to "minnow." After that, I could edit my pic and edit my posts.
  24. I've been parking my boat under a lean-to, which protects the boat well. But, all good things must come to an end. Getting back to the lean to and getting the boat in and out is killing the yard when it's rainy. So, we decided to pour a dedicated pad/drive to park the boat on which will be nice. However, there's no cover for it so, I'm seeking advice here on what kind of boat cover to buy. I see them on Amazon for anywhere from $100 and up. Dr. Google says there are boat cover makers out there that supposedly make the cover to fit your boat. As near as I can tell, those run in the $400 range. I am looking for a cover where I won't have to remove my seats. Trailerable would be nice by not essential. Is there anything I need to be aware of when it comes to buying the right cover? Any particular ones to avoid? I fish out of a 2020 Lowe Stinger 175c with a butt seat up front and regular seat aft. Thanks in advance for your advice.
