  1. I’ve retrieved the hook from small turtles but, a 3’ wide snapper? I think he’d have owned that Ned rig.
  2. I finally gave in and bought he Whopper Plopper 110 in bone which, not only catches fish, but a lot of fun to yell out during the cast….you know, so the bass know what’s for dinner.
  3. I’m a good host. ?
  4. My son-in-law and I had a banner day on the water today. Between us, we boated 40-45 fish. Missed another 5+. I caught 25 +/- fish, 4 on a bone Whopper Plopper, a couple of which were at the 2 lb range. My best 2 fish, both @ 3.25, came on a TR fire-n-ice culprit worm. My SIL took top honors for biggest fish nailing this 4.26 lb on a popper. My pitiful 3’s ?
  5. I believe that I catch more fish when I put whatever bait I'm throwing right were I think it needs to be but, I've always wondered about the quiet entry and just how critical it is. After all, if you make a splashy entry, are the bass smart enough to tell the difference between your lure and a bird landing in the water or some other naturally occurring event? Or does the noise attract them? I mean it would seem obvious that if you drop a lure right on their head in shallow water, you'll scare 'em off but I've actually had bass catch my lure just at the waterline. So, just how important is the silent entry?
  6. Man, it's a good thing I don't suffer from boat envy. ?
  7. I'll take a weird bite over no bite any day ? Nice fish.
  8. Not a long trip but I did get extremely nauseated an dizzy last Sunday. So much so that I cut my trip short. It may have been a touch of heat exhaustion.
  9. I stopped in Dick's in Hattiesburg, MS, yesterday and picked up a WP. The plastics aisle was pretty bare but I was surprised to see a good selection of hooks and weights.
  10. Doesn't FC sink, which would help get the CB down?
  11. I gave up alcohol many years ago after letting it run my life for too long. Baccardi and Coke was my poison of choice.
  12. Just because I hate the waste, I'd leave the 6 lb test. I don't do a lot of light line fishing but what advantage does the even lighter line give you?
  13. Tiny Torpedo for me. I need to work on my buzzbait presentation.
  14. Snap traps are the best in my opinion. I don't want to poison a mouse and have it go off and die somewhere. Sticky paper works too but then you have a live mouse to deal with.
  15. I shifted from a similar tackle box to using Plano 3600's that I carry in a bag. I'm not sure that saves the bulk but it does let me keep my stuff better organized.
  16. Congrats on the new PB.
  17. Looks interesting.
  18. What a nice way to spend Father's Day.... Congrats on you new PB.
  19. Well, it’s Father’s Day and momma said, “Why aren’t you fishing?” So, off I went. Got a late start and the bite was slow for the first 45 minutes. Then it picked up and I snagged 13 in the next hour and 15 minutes, most of them on the same Fire n Ice TR culprit worm. This guy, at just over 2 lbs was the best of the bunch.
  20. Spot. Catch catch ‘em where they ain’t.
  21. What a good father you are. Always thinking of others. Happy wife; happy life.
  22. While nobody likes to get skunked, me especially, sometimes I have to make myself realize that it’s not always about the catching. It’s about the fishing. When it becomes all about the catching, we start to put too much pressure on ourselves and overlook the beauty of where we are. We fish too fast; too impatiently; and we fail to see what’s before us.
  23. Another bucket list item crossed off. Congrats.
  24. Nice improvement. Enjoy.
