  1. I rarely use a steady retrieve on a cricket hopper. I either twitch it on the top or crank it down and use a twitch retrieve. It's such a small, lightweight bait, I would expect the lighter the line, the better but I seem to recall successfully working it on 10#.
  2. No smallies in south MS that I am aware of so I have to settle for being addicted to LMB fishing.
  3. I usually have four rods out on the deck to start the day. I've been known to reach into the locker to pull one i've rigged for special technique (top water, chatterbait, etc). There are a couple rods in the locker that rarely get used but only because they're for my wife and daughter. I'm too cheap/frugal to own any high end stuff. ?
  4. Congrats on the fish you caught and the pending AOY.
  5. Predominately some variety of worm unless I see schooling bass as I’m approaching the ramp. Then it’s a jerk bait or top water.
  6. Fire ‘n Ice
  7. What a beautiful day the Lord made… Snapped this while fishing this AM.
  8. Got out this AM before church. Temps were good with mostly cloudy skies and a light breeze. Only scored two bass bites but both were decent. 2.3 and 2.2 lbs both caught on a 7.5 Culprit Fire n Ice ribbon tail on the Tokyo rig.
  9. Well done @Glenn I am so glad I found this site. I’d actually seen a few of your videos on YouTube before visiting here and always meant to look the site up but never did. Then one day I was googling some technique and it led me here. What a treasure trove of information. Something very valuable to a “why reinvent the wheel” guy like me. I enjoy watching you and Keri on the instructional videos. It’s clear you both enjoy what you do.
  10. Me and a buddy got out early this morning. They weren’t jumping in the boat but we managed 9 decent ones, all on some variety/technique of worm. I always fish to the very end end and this day was no exception. As we neared the launch, I made a cast and decided to remote start the truck to cool it down. About the time the engine turned over, I felt a little tap. I set the hook on this nice 2 lb bass. He was preceded by this little feller who was just a tad smaller.
  11. Super cool. A lot of enhancements.
  12. Looks to be in the hook set position. ?
  13. I have nothing for people who waste our resources. Catch and eat or catch and release.
  14. What? They have a spot for safety chains ?
  15. You ain't lying. They do leave a sticky mess that has to be scraped/scrubbed off.
  16. Congrats...my newborn will be 18 in September. How I miss those days when she was daddy's girl. And yet there is pride in the young lady she is growing into.
  17. We have a blackstone and our favorite meal on is is Hibachi (Steak, shrimp, chicket). Steaks are done well on it and burgers as well.
  18. No wake violators are about the same as those who run their big motor on an electric only lake.
  19. Dr. google agrees that is a tilapia.
  20. That’s a nice day of fishing there. Congrats.
  21. When storing rods in tubes I would highly recommend rod sleeves to protect the guides.
  22. Went out this AM with a true man of God, fine fisherman, and a great friend. And in this case, it was just one guy ? Anyway, we had a fine day on the water between fellowship and fish catching. We put 12 in the boat, 10 bass & 2 bream. Here are a couple of my buddy’s catches. Black TR worm. I think this was the big fish of the day. Chrome/blue Rattletrap. Huge bream. All mine were caught on worms, mostly Tokyo rig with a couple on the wacky rig. Dean wins the prize for biggest fish … multi-species. ?
  23. Out fishing with my good buddy….
  24. Well, if you’re only gonna get one hit, at least it was a good one. Congrats.
