  1. Absolutely a life saver!!!!!
  2. Me too... for another 4 days anyways ?
  3. Hello fellow long islander, I will be a citidiot come Friday!!! ?
  4. Congrats!! That one looks like frying pan size shoulda thrown him in the cooler instead of releasing with a hook. Next time, soon as you feel a hit, drop the tip for a split second, than set the hook!
  5. I'm moving this week, and sadly won't get time to make the drive much back to a lake that is only 10 minutes from home right now. Report 4/25/21 Woke up and had the itch, raining steadily in the 40's. One of those cold rainy days you easily could have just stayed in bed. Wanted to hit the same spot I was at last night, had fish on every cast after dark for about 30 minutes. Anyways, hit mcdonalds on the drive for the usual, bacon egg and cheese on a bagel.. Wasn't before long my stomach starting grumbling... With a steady rain, hurried into my waders in the empty lot and suited up and down the path I went. Half way to the spot, stomach starting bubbling and grumbling... NOT GOOD!!! Had to clinch em and gingerly walk back to the truck. Nobody was around still and it was barely light out, luckily had a spare roll packed in the truck, leaned up on the fence and lett'er rip!! I really needed that!!! After taking care of business made it to the spot and only fished it for about 15 minutes... not even a touch .. Crazy how last night they were in here thick. Made a bit of a walk to a deep water area close to the shore and managed only 2 bass, really enjoyed fishing this lake and its a shame I lived here for 8 years and only this year decided to check this lake out... Til next time.

  6. I can only speak from limited LMB experience.. The places I have done well, always at first light, meaning my *** is in the water while its still dark out and I will fish an hour or 2 after first light, and the last 2 hours before its dark outside, even after dark. Middle of the day, late afternoon I caught squat.. This is for April.
  7. I am not sure what effect on freshwater it has, but saltwater, absolutely! It's not the moon itself, its the effects of water levels and current. I am not a full moon guy, I like the new moons, pitch black out, however there is always a period before or after the new moon when bigger stripe bass will be caught. This is proven through fishing logs and years worth of them. Aside from that it effects bait migrations. Now for freshwater fishing, I have no idea!
  8. standing.... in the water!!
  9. A few fish I put the hammer down to today... even a crappie I take it, whatever that fish was, he was hungry!!!
  10. Rod is a dicks sporting combo job.... the abu garcia zata spinning, 8lb braid with 15lb fluro. Cast out, let sink.. raise the rod tip all the way up slowly while reeling in slack, rinse and repeat. sometimes I raise it a little faster, sometimes longer pauses in between. just go out and experiment.
  11. I would love to use my fly rod on bass, problem is most places I fish have no room for double hauling
