I just bought a raymarine element 9 with hypervision, my question is does anyone have tips on settings for side imaging? Right now I have the hypervision turned on and it seems like my range only extends to about 25 feet. Everything further than 25ft seems really dark. When I take hypervision off it extends further it seems like. Just curious if anyone has tips on gain and intensity settings to get the best image.

The weather here in Wisconsin was unusually warm a couple weeks ago shooting the water temps up early into the mid 50s. Now we have had a cold front or I should say our normal 48-50 degree highs. Will this affect where smallmouth are located? I am planning on taking my boat out to a local lake tomorrow, the highs are supposed to be around 50. I'm just wondering if I should focus shallow or if the cold snap would have pushed them back out deeper?
