Due to my fun little battle with pneumonia all winter my doctor feels its necessary for me to take a lung capacity test on that day. When I told him I would run circles around him he didn't sound to amuzed.
I would like to put up a $5.00 bounty (I'm broke) on anyone who can poach a keeper within 15 feet of the front of Needemp's boat.
Good luck and have fun!
I fished there probably over 25 times last year. Most of my time was on 35 though. When I got bored I would hit up 31, 33, 34, 36, and 37.
Is there anything your wanting to know speicifically?
I own a lot of Fast action rods and one X-Fast. With the X-Fast rod every bite I get feels like the bass is hammering he heck out of the bait. In my oppinnion you get a lot more sensitivity out of the X-Fast which could be key to detectin lite bites.
Over the weekend, I had 3 fishing friends confirm that B.A.S.S. does give a 12" exemption while fishing in Florida.
Lame
I was watching the weigh-ins live on the internet and I saw a 10 and 11 oz bass brought in by co-anglers. I don't know if I could of swallowed my pride and bring it to the scales.
Crewman, I am fishing my first club tournament of the year this weekend and I am in the same boat as you. I have never fished with this boater. Im guessing our water temps will be 42 deg if we are lucky. The only thing I can recommend to you is to concentrate on your presentation and pray that your boater puts you on fish. Other than that there is nothing you can do.
Goodluck!
If they are just giving me free stuff I would say no. Why would I want to use something I have zero confidense in? I rather pay for my gear that I know will work. If they were willing to give me a lot of money with the free stuff I would have to think about it. I would have to look at how much money they are willing to give me and how crappy their product is. Then I could make the decision.
With lures I would never look for sponsorship unless its a product that I already use because I feel it produces. Im more like if it happens it happens. Im more worried about putting fish in the boat than if Im getting free stuff.

Otter, here is the link to one of the orignal posts Needemp paid the moderators to sticky it.
If I could only choose one type of lure to fish for the rest of my life it would be a jig. I don't see myself fishing without a jig tied on to atleast on one pole.
I am playing FLW for the first time this year. I did BASS last year. I don't think BASS did the blog for the other tournaments. You basically had to wait for the day to be over to see how your doing.
Picking my team a couple days ago I realized how much more I like the BASS format. Picking between 200 angers with no salary cap would take forever if I put any time and energy into it. I tried for my first two picks then said we are going to roll the dice. If I get B.S. lucky and win the 100gs it will be exactly that. B.S. Luck.
I have been considering making that exception.
I like to use a co-polymer or mono with lures that feature trebles. Fish often come un buttoned from trebles. Line stretch decreases the chances of this happening. Plus alot of lures such as crankbaits and spooks require some hesitation after the strike. Cutting down on sensitivity aids to this.
On the other hand floro is supposed to get jerkbaits down a little deeper.
My thoughts exactly. I think I am going to go with the fluoro and use a moderate tip and try to be aware that I need to take it easy on hooksets.
I will let you know how it goes after my first tournament on the 8th.
