No it's a right hand retrieve. I cast with my right and retrieve with my right, I pitch with my left though. I also thought this could be the issue, but it does not happen with any other reel. I guess I can try to replace the two washers in the cap and the o ring. Plumbers tape could work, but I would prefer to have it work with stock parts. I have ten reels so I don't really need this to work, but not being able to fix something bugs me to no end. I also really like this reel even compared to my 20 metanium. My shimano slx xt reel's cast control knob keeps tightening while I'm casting . I set it to minimize side to side play in the spool and it will get progressively tighter as I'm casting the lures. Does anyone know what may be causing this issue? I tried adding some reel grease under the knob cap because I thought the spool spinning was causing friction with the cap and tightening it, but this did not improve it. I don't have this issue with any of my other shimano or daiwa baitcasters. I have no problems fully disassembling my reels and servicing them, but I'm kind of stumped on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
