  1. which store is that?
  2. ^^^ A state record just wouldn't mean that much to me
  3. Unlike in 2021, I did not start out too well. I think I was only able to go fishing twice in May and caught about 3 per trip. But I really dedicated myself to start fishing deeper as the season wore on, and I found that getting out on the water by 5:00 made for some good mornings. I also got the hang of jig fishing and got a little bit addicted to it. So I ended up catching most of my big fish in July, which is unusual for me. And I caught my PB smallmouth while camping (but did not get a picture because I didn't bring my phone or a camera) Here are some of the best catches:
  4. Rapala DT 6's are my favorite silent cranks
  5. Livetarget 55 most of the time for me, but my favorite little frog is the Booyah pad crasher jr.
  6. I sent one swim jig back to TW because the skirt was damaged for some reason. I just used the box it came in and the prepaid shipping label, along with the return form. It was quite easy and I got my $5 back in about a week
  7. Basically took the words right out of my mouth. MN has some special fishing to offer
  8. Senko, zoom finesse worm, swim jig, finesse jig and spinnerbait
  9. I just went and took all trailers off my jigs and chatterbaits and luckily there wasn't any significant corrosion to the hooks but I can see a little on a couple of them. Glad I did that instead of leaving them on there all winter
  10. Does every soft plastic do this? Like if I have some chatterbaits with trailers still attached will they rust over time?
  11. These look like exactly like what I'm looking for! thanks
  12. I always get a little jealous when A-jay posts pictures of his tackle (or fish!!!)
  13. This is what I saw G-Man using in his video about the jig
  14. Yamamoto senko, yum dingers, rage menace, roboworms, zoom finesse worms, TRD's, and rage swimmers are about all I need. I keep about 2-3 colors of each (usually grn pumpkin and black/blue)
  15. Bass Pro's website says 4/0, it looks more like a 3/0 to me
  16. Interesting, I've never thought of this before....I will definitely have to give it a try
  17. This topic has probably been created a million times already, sorry. I have a couple new Buckeye G-man ballin' out finesse jigs that have a 4/0 hook and I've started to think about trailers for them. I have been using regular rage menace grubs with about 3/4" cut off but I'm wondering if there is a better option that I don't have to modify and has a little more subtle action. I'm looking for a small thin profile about 3" long. Suggestions?
  18. I do most of my fishing in the evening this time of year mainly because of wind conditions (being a kayak fisherman). If I had a boat I would definitely fish midday to early afternoon when it's warmest. Morning bite definitely is hot in the summer months but cools down as the weather cools down in my experience
  19. In no specific order: 1. Chatterbait 2. Spinnerbait 3. Jerkbait 4. Finesse Jig 5. Weightless Fluke
  20. I've found that with the Mepps Aglia spinners I use that a swivel and snap is necessary when fishing for trout in current, not as much for bass or panfish in ponds/lakes
  21. Same here. I don't use a trailer because I like as compact of a profile as possible
  22. Zoom finesse worm (20 pack for under $5) Rapala husky jerk ZMan original chatterbait (not as good as the elites or jackhammers, but it still catches bass) D&L tackle advantage casting jigs (fall craw color is killing it right now and each jig is $3.50)
  23. My best spots are about 20 mins away, but I like to drive 45 minutes to Lake minnetonka area or even a little farther if I have the whole morning free and the conditions look good for kayaking
  24. I like sufix elite in hi-vis yellow for visibility
  25. X2 on the Juice Jig. I flip it, swim it, skip it. Put a rage menace on that bad boy and you're ready to do some damage! Like @WRB has said, I don't think that there is one perfect jig out there, but my favorite brands that cover just about all of my jigging applications are Outkast and Dirty Jigs. Here is my most recent catch on the Juice:
