I had a blast fishing the Middle Racoon River when I lived in Iowa. Caught smallies on a regular basis. It's definitely not the "best" place to fish, but for central Iowa, I never got skunked there.

I just moved from the midwest to Washington state. I recently acquired a kayak and am looking to find some smallmouth fishing around the Columbia river area.
