  1. I had the 6'9 M and sent it back to TW to exchange it for the ML. I never fished with it but it definitely felt like a MH
  2. I’m with you tbag, I don’t throw anything over 5/16oz plus trailer on the 853. I throw 1/4oz shakeyheads and finesse jigs a lot with that rod and it’s perfect for me.
  3. i use a hair tie to keep my weight pinned. Works great and very inexpensive
  4. I agree with the other posts. I've owned some dobyns from the fury line to the extreme hp line. IMO, the expride (I have the 72mh) is lighter and much more sensitive. A lot of people love the 745hp for jigs, but I just didnt find it that sensitive in my hands. I wasnt blown away by my 702s hp either but I like the action. I do love their crankbait rods though. The expride fishes much higher than their price point. Warranty isnt as great as dobyns but that does not bother me. Hope that helps
  5. thanks for the reply 5-20. That helps a lot. I just pulled the trigger on the 76mh from TW
  6. Anyone have experience with both rods that can compare the two tips? I've read that the Heavy can throw 3/8oz and that it has a relatively soft tip. I am looking for a versatile rod especially for football jigs (3/8-1/2) out deep. I fish lanier a lot so I dont throw a lot of heavy weights but I want to be able to have the backbone when I need it. I have the 72mh expride but I havent used it much so I dont remember what the tip is like. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.
  7. 1/4oz ball head with a keitech fat impact 3.3 and 3.8. I like a 3.5-4" easy shiner on an underspin
  8. Don't have the legend x but I have the avid x 68mxf as well. I use mine for general purpose. Drop shot (3/8 weight), small keitech, shakeyhead, fluke. Only thing I don't like about it is the guides since I like to use braid to flouro on my spinning setups
  9. Used to use invizx to fish football jigs but found it not as abrasion resistant as sniper. Had to retie my line almost every cast which got a little annoying. Switched over to sniper and have not had any problems fishing rock banks/bluffs on Lanier
  10. Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm planning on switching out my gen 1 revo stx handle. Got the Abu bent handle and large knobs. Does anyone know where I can get extra handle knob screws? The screws in my gen 1 handle doesn't work with the large eva knobs. I'm guessing I'll need the gen 2 knob screws. Thanks guys
  11. Got the dx702 hp and it's a sick rod. I love fishing a 1/4oz weight with this rod. Great sensitivity, balance and action. Caught a bunch of spots with this rod already
  12. I actually like the drop shot now. I fish Lanier and the drop shot is killer here. Really fun to fight a big spot on a light action rod and light line
  13. I think the champion 733c would be perfect for what you want to use it for
  14. Sweet Beaver and d bomb
  15. I second all the cavitron posts. Love the way it sounds
  16. Great info ellesar! Can't stress how important the grass is there. Definitely top water in the morning. I've done really well with Zell pops, soft and hollow bodied frogs, and buzzbaits. When it starts to get hot, just like ellesar said, fish the grass with worms or jigs. If you like deep water fishing then find some schools on humps and ledges. That can really produce ALOT of fish! Oh and another thing is finding the right grass. There are so many spots with grass but make sure you look for baitfish there. If there aren't any there then don't waste your time fishing there...just from personal experience. Hope this helps!
