Most of the time I leave my phone at home when fishing. But if I absolutely have to carry my tracking device, it goes in the front pocket. One of these days I’m going to turn the trolling motor too fast or fall off the dock or something smart like that and then I’ll have an excuse to enjoy silence. Sorry about your phone .
I change my line when it gets frayed or when it gets low on the spool . Usually after my bait blows into a tree and I have a conniption fit . So once a week.
That story took a wild turn. From catching lots of good fish to standing naked on your boat with a bleeding butt. It’s good the hook wasn’t past the barb.
I can comfortably keep 3 rods on the deck of my boat. A 7’ MHF casting rod with 15# mono, 7’ MF spinning rod with 10# mono , 5’10” ML spinning with 6# mono. Easy to remember and Way less clutter to trip on.
I think about taking a break from fishing every once in a while. Then the FOMO shifts into warp speed and I get real grouchy thinking about someone else catching my PB. But I’m sure you’ll be fine. See you soon.
