  1. I’ve worked with a lot of people that should have gone to prison .
  2. Most of my fishing has been in Texas , for bass anyway.
  3. I don’t drink sweet tea anymore , now that I gave up sugar . Artificial sweeteners just ain’t the same.
  4. I like your new boat. What are you going to name her?
  5. I use one on a regular basis. They really shine in the winter, but catch fish year round.
  6. I was camping on the edge of the Arkansas river near Salida Colorado about 15 years ago , doing a little gold panning . One night I was relaxing in the tent and I heard someone whisper “ I’ve got you where I want you, and now I’m going to eat you. “ I grabbed my flashlight , ripped the tent flap back and there stood a guy from Oklahoma staring at a big booger on the end of his finger . Oh the horror !
  7. It happens. I ate a 9 # largemouth this summer.
  8. I too enjoy piddling with my fishing stuff. Welcome!
  9. I have seen times before and during a rain storm when the fish went absolutely bonkers. It’s also got me into trouble a time or two. I stayed out too long once a tornado came through with monster hail that was clobbering the tar out of me. After it passed I did catch some nice fish, but I don’t know if it was worth all that.
  10. Your rod holders are great! Are you going to add a basket for your tackle box ?
  11. That’s a beautiful picture
  12. Winter fishing gets tough when the water temp hits 40 degrees. Fishing all day for one bite can be a real test of a person’s metal. I will grind it out though, in hopes of catching that one pale giant.
  13. Last week my cat got out and the next morning I found her next to the carport with blood all over her and her front leg had a big open wound. The X-ray showed that someone had shot her. That’s the last thing I expected. She was wearing a pink collar and it’s clear she belongs to someone who loves her. Looks like she’s going to make it, but they had to amputate her leg.
  14. This time of year I have a 3/8 nickel Kastmaster spoon locked in my hand most of the day. It works well for vertical jigging as well as casting a country mile for schoolers popping shad on the surface.
  15. This time of year I use it quite a bit. When I find a herd of fish stacked up around bait, I’ll sit on them until they go nanners.
  16. 10# mono on a MF rod with a 3000 reel is a good choice.
  17. Night fishing is a spring and summer thing for me.
  18. I’d be a horny toad.
  19. I’ve got a 4 stroke 2.5 HP Merc for my little boat. I didn’t want the extra weight of a battery . Works great, but it is more expensive .
  20. I likes the Junebug too.
  21. I live close to the Oklahoma border. It gets colder up here than down South. Thirty years ago when I lived by San Antonio I remember seeing a skim of ice on the dog’s water twice.
  22. The Dicks in Amarillo really went downhill fast. I’m not sure but I think they shut it down.
  23. A 3 lb bass on ultra lite gear is fun. Richard Gene calls it “sporty”.
  24. When my wife goes to town for groceries , I tag along . When we finally get done at Food King and get to Walmart the first thing she says when we’re walking to the door is “ I’ll come by sporting goods when I’m done.” The latest purchase was a couple of 6’ ML Lews combos for 55$ apiece. They feel like they’re worth more than that, a good deal in my opinion. If I saw them on the internet I would have assumed they were trash for that price.
