  1. Lews Tournament Pro Speed Spool LFS 7.5:1 65lb Maxcuattro
  2. I gave up trying to match. I've settled on black no chip matte tungsten and not looked back.
  3. I'll have to try on it then.
  4. Received my first one last week. Its the 7'3" HMH XF model rated 1/4 - 1 oz. In testing it seems true to rating. The cork is comparable thickness to my Dobyns rods. It is very light and extremely sensitive. The action seems true to advertising. Mine is an XF and the tip is noticeably faster than my Dobyns XF. For $257 which is the same sale I purchased mine in, it feels like a no brainer.
  5. Received my Helium last week and finally got it out over the weekend. I am floored. Many times more sensitive than anything else in my collection. It feels equally as good with my planned t rigs as it did with a jig throwing it around. I'm not sure I'd be on board @ $400 but at their sales prices I will definitely pick up another. Thanks for the help.
  6. 17# Invisx on my normal Jig rod. I'll switch out to my frog reel with 65# braid to 20# leader if its nasty.
  7. Alberto knot whether I'm going from 65# braid to 25lb FC or 10# braid to 6lb FC leader. No issues.
  8. This. It feels like it is the correct way so I fish it with more confidence. All that matters.
  9. Jigs and 10" worms.
  10. Thanks. Realistically 3/16 and 1/4 are most of my use so that sounds perfect. Looking forward to the step up in sensitivity.
  11. Just placed the order for the Helium 7'3" HMHXF. A couple days and we'll see. Thanks for all the insights.
  12. This and the 7’3” model are what I keep coming back to. These Heliums seem to be universally well thought of. Might just b time to pull the trigger.
  13. Thanks I appreciate some new options. Nothing like adding to the analysis paralysis. The suggestion about used makes sense too. It sounds like a lot of guys here buy and try until they find the right rod so the aftermarket might be a place to look.
  14. In the Kistler Helium line, is there much difference in say the MH models with different lengths? It looks like the 7' and 7'3" are same specs but is it just a different length or some change to the actual action. I'm primarily a Kayak guy so I like to stay at 7'3" or shorter. In addition, in you experience with the weights I'm using would I be better served from the MHF 1/4-3/4 or HMHXF 1/4-1?
  15. I'm looking for a dedicated T rig rod. I'm currently using Dobyns Fury 703c and 734c for these. I'd like to step into the world of higher sensitivity and repurpose my current setups. I have a couple rods that I've been looking at and was hoping for some real world feedback. I'll be using 15-17# FC and 99% of the time using a 3/16 - 3/8 weight with a soft plastic in moderate cover. A friend suggested the ALX Zolo Deputy. He has one and it feels good but have also been suggested the G. Loomis GCX 853 or 854 JWR. I'm looking in the $200-300 range for the rod and am open to other options if there are better ones our there. Also I'd prefer cork grip. Would any of these fit what I am looking for in particular or is something else like a MBR be a better option? Thanks for any input.
