Water temps here should have been low 60s over the weekend after Sunday's 85 degree day but are back in the mid to upper 50s right now. Doubtful on the lack of food. The bluegills in this pond are plentiful and range from the size you'd like to live bait fish with for bass to ones that will fill a pan if you cook whole. My pb last year in late June certainly thought there was enough to eat lol.

Got out for 45 mins last night and had my first good day of the year. 5 fish total with a decent one to boot on @BrianMDTX favorite senko. Opinions from everyone on pre or post spawn? From my observations the fish just moved up this weekend. Beds have been created and little males were everywhere. I thought this fish would be chunky and have a gut but she didn't at all and her weight was below what her frame looked like it should have been. Pinkish coloring around her anal fin on her belly but fin/tail didn't look bloody or rubbed. Caught right off the bank in like 2 foot of water on a farm pond. She lessened the pain of later breaking off on what I believe would have been my PB. I'll be back.

I haven't used the treble. I like the freestyle because it's weedless Edit: yeah, what he said ^^^

My son and I hammered um on this weekend. He took 2nd place in the local fishing derby with his 13 1/4" trout. Took some bluegills home to boot. Awesome weekend!

Alright, so has anyone ever fried your bluegills whole (minus guts/head) and eaten the fins? I got into cooking bluegill last year so I went to youtube to figure out what I needed to do to prepare them and cook them. Came across a video of a guy that recommended eating the fins, said they taste like chips. I figured WTH I'll try it. He was 100% spot on. I get it's super weird lol but man it was good!

Couple months late but mine and my boys first ever. Gotta figure out what to do with the pelt for him

Anyone that craps on a suggestion to eat bluegill has never ate bluegill. There's not many fish that taste better.

Don't hook into DDs and you can't lose DDs.. I'm ahead of the game here

You can use them to limit how far your weight slides if you're using a Texas rig as well

Daiwa Fuego CT 8.1:1 Dobyns Fury 7'3" mag heavy, extra fast 50lb power pro I've got a couple filthy frogs but my favorite has been my Spro bronzeye walking frog. 65 size in midnight I'm throwing a frog every trip once bass are thinking about getting on beds through fall. Only way I'm not is if the buzzbait bite is on fire. Not much better than those 2 bites.

Got some turkey ammo from bass pro and needed to round out the order with a couple small things. Finally got an s-waver and some senkos to please @BrianMDTX
