  1. I was in cabelas today for hooks and things and saw it there, they had 6lb and 10lb g-core 131 in stock for 29.99 for 150yds so I bought one to try later out after I burn through enough yds of my sufix 832 I all ready have spooled on. I can update this thread mid summer to how it holds up if you have not all ready tried it yet.
  2. I bought a pair of costa del mar green mirror in July 2020 and not only use them for fishing but for driving as well. They take the strain off your eyes from the sun reflecting off water, I noticed a huge difference after fishing for 6-8 hour in part to full sun(the sun will kill your eyesight, I would get a good pair). Also for me they work best in part to full sun when sight fishing for spawning bass. They seem to enhance greens and browns even when the fish have a few inches of there body popping out of a weed patch.
  3. 4" Berkley Power worm curly tail in Tequila Sunrise or a 5" senko red shad have worked for me in Ohio Tennessee & Florida rain or shine, cold or hot!
  4. Hello, I bought a sufix 150yd 10lb braid when I got zodias rod and just spooled it on my 2500 stradic and there is still a good bit of room left(did not realize I should have bought the 300yd). Do you think it will be fine just like that or should I remove it and spool up 50 to 75yds of the old kastking 12lb I had on before and then fill the rest up with the new sufix 10lb to get spool completely full?? Thanks, Rodney
  5. This may not be for everyone but if determined it may be right fit for you. Get rid of you cable and install the following apps on your tv; PIA VPN (About $50 a year) (Always make sure it is turned on when streaming on cyberflix) Downloader Cyberflix (any show any movie) Kraken (history, abc, fox, tnt, food network etc) NEWSMAX APP for the conservative at heart MX Player & (temporarily install free trial of es file explorer to add custom codec to mx player) Real-Debrid (About $40 a year) Use Troypoint.com to guide you through installs. Took me a 3 hours but I have access to anything and everything you can possibly think of including shows and movies from Netflix, Hulu, Apple Tv, Disney, HBO, Showtime, Starz, for about $100 a year. I have had this set up for a year and a half. I will copy and paste my tv series list below of all my favorite shows from years past to current. 6. Now I understand. I think I may try one that is not micro chipped
  7. I'm looking at the metanium on tacklewarehouse and I see two listings; one that is mgl 150b for $419 and one that says dc for $499. What is difference and or which one is better for my application
  8. Oh, I just realized you helped me with the rod selection, thank you! The zodias should be at my door by Monday, Can't wait to try it out. Guess I can cast it out into the snow to try. For the baitcaster which I am considering as second set up now, for the XG type do you have recommendation on a shimano model plus rod?
  9. which one of those would be better suited for me considering inshore fishing, and finessing plastics
  10. Never used a baitcaster before. Your comment started me looking at shimano baitcasters and I saw the metanium. What is a hg vs xg with these reels?
  11. I just got a new zodias to pair with older 2018 stradic ci4 and would like to have a secondary set up. I just got long awaited stimulus check! Looking at the new vanford 2500 size and to pair it with a 6'9" to 7' med fast rod for finesse plastics. Anyone with experience with the expride or poison and what would balance and pair better.
  12. Totally agree. I can't stand when I'm at a public reservoir at 6am and a few runners are there at 6:30 and act like I am in there way!
  13. DO NOT GIVE UP UNTIL YOU READ THIS. I too was like you, only I have been fishing on and off my whole life until one one early June morning in 2019. I had recently bought some fishing tackle and lures from a garage sale and was trying some of these items on the particular morning. I was ready to give up as 11am approached and there was one bag with one worm in it that was a berkley 4.5" tequila sunrise curly tail, and put it on a medium six eagle claw worm type hook. Ended up catching 5-6 bass about a pound or less. I went home and ordered 2 bags from amazon. By the end of the season I went through 7-8 more bags catching nearly a 100 bass ranging from 1/2lb up to 1.75lb 75% came from that worm and the confidence of catching fish helped me to find other plastics and lures that worked. These are my go too when nothing else works. I fish reservoirs mostly. Do not bother buying other colors, buy the exact worm, size and color and try my technique below. i use 10-12 lb braid lo-vis line. I weightless Texas rig the above mentioned worm on a size 4/0 red gamaketsu offset hook for cast side to side in spring early summer and at a weighted gamaketsu size 4/0 for later summer and far casting. When I cast I usually let it sink and wait 15-60sec, twitch wait and if one doe not hit after that I do an ultra slow retrieve and occasional stop twitch. Somtime if nothing hits by the time it is halfway reeled in, I will lift rod up high and the the bait sink back down like fishing a senko, it really works. I meant size 3/0 hook not 4/0
  14. First the tip broke setting hook, I probably was a little rough, but still it happened so easily, second the third guide down from the top got loose over a two week period for no apparent reason, third I just barley knocked the rod guide (one of the bigger ones) against a park bench and it broke right off. all three kast king pedigrees. I also fish from spring until early fall 4-6 days a week and 4-8hrs a day Oh all broke in one and a half seasons
