  1. there definitely are but i dont have anywhere to get them
  2. there are there used to be a fountain that helped but now thats gone i still catch some though and i saw a few swimming around
  3. Ive tried but anywhere within 30 mins is private or no bank access all true, right now the weightless texas rig will work, but in summer it gets really thick on the top and only a frog will work. I was just wondering if there was something I was missing. I appreciate it!
  4. Thanks, I'll give it a try
  5. Basically my only place to go fish, is nearly unfishable simply because of the gunk in it. Its on the top, in the middle, and on the bottom. It was incredibly bad last summer, but winter helped it clear up a bit, however It is starting to come back though as the warmer weather comes in and is only going to get worse. It is not what fisherman would call "grass" but something closer to algae. I have tried treble hook baits just to see if it was not as bad as it seems, but as you would expect, they are unfishable. Spinnerbaits also catch a lot of algae so those are out. I have also tried jigs of all sorts, football heads, finesse jigs, and swim-jigs, but the only semi-successful one was a swim-jig (most of the gunk is on the bottom, so that could explain it). Texas rigs, Ned rigs, Tokyo rigs, and wacky rigs didn't work so well either, as the weights will bury down in it and snowball it up (weightless Texas rigs aren't heavy enough to punch through it so they just sit on top). It is still early for top-water in my region, so that wont be an option yet. As of this season in this pond, I have only caught one on a swim-jig (got lucky because it hit before I had to reel through a clump of it) and a couple on some old flounder fillets bait fishing. Any insight on how to catch fish here is highly appreciated.
  6. Ive made that argument... she tried to deny it but one look in her closet says it all.
  7. The hard part is convincing my mom to let me lol. She says I have too many and I only have 2 casting rods and 2 spinning rods lol.
  8. thats kinda my problem lol
  9. 150 is probably all I can at the moment, I will have more to play with when corona is over and I can get a job.
  10. Lol I'm 15 and don't have a job yet I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel just for a Mojo Bass. Thanks for the suggestion though that might be a good option for me in the future!
  11. I have an SLX DC that needs a rod, and I think I will get a Mojo Bass rod to go with it. The reel is a 7.2:1. What power, length and action should I get? I have a Lews mach crush 7' MH fast action and a Lews american hero 6'6" MH fast action as well. I fish small ponds mostly so I like Texas rigs, chatterbaits, squarebills, and such. I need a good frogging rod as well as a lighter medium action for treble hook baits. I know that sensitivity is not too important for these techniques so I can get by with cheaper rods. Should I just get another MH or go for one of the cheaper rods for my SLX DC?
  12. Lol yall are right I don't really care that much but at first I didn't realize how big of an upgrade it was. To be honest I'm not really sure about what I wanna use it for I have a 7' MH Fast action lews Mach crush as well as a 6'6" MH Fast lews american hero, so with already having 2 MHs im reluctant to get another. Any thoughts on what I should get? I fish small clear ponds and usually fish texas rigs, chatterbaits, crankbaits and such. I was thinking maybe like a 6'10" medium in either moderate or fast, but I know treble hook baits are less important for sensitivity.
  13. I have an SLX DC that needs a rod and I have looked at both the Bass X and Mojo Bass. I am willing to pay the price difference for the Mojo bass, but would like to know more about the differences. Also I have doubts about the Mojo Bass because the color won't look as good with the SLX. That obviously is not going to be a decision maker, but is the slightly better rod really worth a less nice looking combo?
