So, you cannot use the pre-existing 8g wiring in the 10E with a 50 lb thrust motor in the back and the battery in the front since the limit for 8g wire is 5 feet according to the table?

I'm not using that one, but I think the one I have is likely inaccurate. I ended up getting the Schumacher Model #SC1360 for $64 at Lowes ( https://www.lowes.com/pd/Schumacher-Electric-15-Amp-6-12-Volt-Car-Battery-Charger/1000577617 ) and it reads 12.8v at 100% charge while the volt meter reads only 12.5. So far, I'm happy with the charger.

Thanks for the suggestion Jig Man, but I did try that. Still ~80%. Then I switched it to 2 amp and reset the charger by taking one of the clamps off then back on. Gage went to 100% and green light came on after about 5 min. Still registering only 12.54 volts. I think I will take the advise of GaryH and Johnbt and get a digital smart charger. I have a new Everstart Maxx 29DC Marine battery and a Harbor Freight Cenn-tech 2/10/50 charger. When the charge is complete the voltage of the battery reads 12.51 using a multimeter. As I understand it, that would be only 80% charged with 12.73 volts being 100%. I'm willing to buy a newer, better charger if I need to, but I thought I would ask for comments here first (after spending considerable time searching previous posts).

Okay, that's good to know. Do you, or anyone else, have a recommendation for a good pure deep-cycle battery?

MN Fisher, thank you for your reply, but as I mentioned in my post, this is a deep cycle marine battery. Should I get a different one?

I have a brand new Endura C2 50, Minn Kota Battery Box, Interstate Batteries Deep Cycle 24DC 685 Marine Cranking Amp Battery and a Bass Raider 10e. After charging the battery over night, pressing the level button on the battery box showed full charge just before taking the boat out. With two people weighing a total of about 330#, going into a 5-10 mph wind on still lake water for about 20 minutes at full power, then maneuvering around for about 20 min on power level 1-3, the battery box showed red. We were still able to get back to the boat ramp on max power with no wind, but we assisted the motor by paddling. Upon return home, the battery box indicator was yellow - the second lowest while a volt meter reading was 11.9v. I'm trying to reconcile the low reading on the battery box, but 11.9v on the volt meter and I'm concerned that the power drained so quickly. It seems that we should have been able to run at full power, drawing 50 amps, for 1.6 hours with a 12v DC marine battery rated at 81 amp hours. What are your thoughts? Should I return the battery or the battery box? What is your experience with running a Minn Kota C2 50 (or 55 that draws the same amps)?
