  1. Welcome from N.C.
  2. I'll let you know how I like it.
  3. Nice rig! Fish will fear you?
  4. Spooky jr. In bleeding shad. Lucky Craft Gunfish and Whopper in bone.
  5. Love this Shimano Sahara, I went to the 3000 because the drag jumps to 20lbs on this reel. The price isn't too bad either.
  6. Picked up this Cashion rod, CRT series 7' MH fast. Haven't used it yet. HandMade in USA. Originally went to pick up another Dobyns but ended up with this. Warranty is great on these!
  7. I use a 7ft MH fast spooled with 12lb Yo-Zuri hybrid or a 7ft M fast spooled with 8 YZH(1/4 oz) when I fish jigs in a pond. Don't discount swimming jigs in a pond either, I'll let it drop to the bottom if no hit, I'll slowly swim it in using a slow 10 o'clock to 12 o'clock lift. I've had hits right at the bank doing this.
  8. Anyone else own any Cashion rods? Just picked up a 7ft M/H fast CRT series. These are made in Sanford, N.C. just a couple hrs away from me. 3 year warranty, no questions asked $25 replacement. It's in the price range of the Dobyns Fury and St. Croix Mojo/Triumph series. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but wondered if anyone else used them.
  9. Knowing your background, I can see why you wrote your original post. It's threads like these that make people think. Obviously, your passionate about this topic... As we all should be! I'm glad the original poster is ok.
  10. I use a BPS Bionic Blade M/H 6-9 fast with a Lew's Speed spool LFS for all my Chatterbait fishing, none of my other rods feel right after using this setup for so long.
  11. ☝️This is what I would do! You can make a great combo for $250 ea. Like a Dobyns Fury series rod paired with a SLX or Tatula CT and a Dobyns spinning setup with a Shamano Sahara (3000 series has a 20lb drag) It would be more productive in the long run. Unless, you are set on getting a higher end set up.
  12. Congratulations on your P.B.
  13. Nice plump fish!
  14. You can always come down on the price if you don't have any interest. List it and see what happens. It's a nicely equiped boat that seems to be in good cosmetic and mechanical condition. Also, if you have maintenance records, that helps. Good luck.
  15. Jig would be my first choice also.
  16. The bite for anything over dinky has been tough the last few days, but I managed to haul in a couple on jigs and chatterbait.
  17. Buff and gloves here... Just started wearing this stuff this year. I hate sun screen and hate cancer even more.
  18. Spinnerbait, Wacky, Texas, Topwater(Most likely, Gunfish or frog) 1/4 or 3/8 jig with trailer.
  19. I've got one on a jerkbait and one on a wacky rig this season. (Truth) Hoping to beat my P.B. soon! Might switch to a topwater. ? Keep fishing and enjoy yourself!
  20. Love that..."Cops n Bobbers"
  21. ☝️ Great lesson... Life certainly isn't going to take it easy on you. Better to learn that at a young age. If someone continuesly beats me at something, it tells me I need to work harder or accept the whooping.
  22. Only a couple over dink status... The small guys were tearing up the Sugar Plum Dingers.(12 fish on the same Dinger) Hooked a real hawg that busted off my War Eagle spinnerbait and left me with a couple of spinners tied to my line. Unfortunately, I got to see it before it made it's getaway.
